Mariah, Toni Make Billboard’s All-Time Top Song List
Two of R&B’s female stars are getting some serious recognition from the people at Billboard. Mariah Carey and Toni Braxton each have songs on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs list. Mariah’s “We Belong Together” grabbed the number nine spot on the list. The 2005 single held the top spot on the Hot 100 for 14 non-consecutive weeks, and became the first song ever to simultaneously hold the number-one position on nine different Billboard charts. Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart” came in at number ten on Billboard’s All-Time list. The 1996 song was number one on the Hot 100 for eleven straight weeks. “Billboard” compiled the Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs list in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the chart. Chubby Checker’s “The Twist” earned the top spot.
