Lil Kim Ordered To Stop Recording After Lawsuit Filed
Lil Kim’s recording career is on pause for now. According to the “New York Daily News,” a judge has ordered the rapper to stay out of the studio in light of a breach-of-contract lawsuit filed against her. Brookland Media, which is run by production duo Trackmasters, claims Kim signed an exclusive deal with them. After the ink dried, Kim reportedly started making extra demands, like getting Wyclef Jean and Akon to produce some of her tracks. The lawsuit notes that Lil Kim is, quote, “known in the music industry for her extravagant and costly excesses.” Brookland says they spent 240-thousand dollars to produce eight tracks for Kim and even rented a 12-thousand-dollar-per-month house in New Jersey to be closer to the rapper. Kim’s attorney expects the lawsuit to be settled. He adds, quote, “We’ll work it out around a conference table, in front of a judge or over some martinis.”
