Your Favorite Store Might Be Going Out Of Business

If you have a gift card you might want to go spend it, because of the economy a lot our favorite stores are closing. Here are a list of stores that are closing…

Toys “R” us is said to be closing 15 stores

Ann Taylor is closing 117 stores nationwide.

Eddie Bauer has already closed 27 shops and plans on closing 5  more first quarter.

Coach announced that they are closing 20 to 23 stores this year. 

Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, and Catherines are closing 150 stores nationwide.

Gap Inc. Closing 85 stores in addition to its nameske chain, Gap also owns Old Navy and Banana Republic. The company said the closures – all planned for fiscal 2008 will be weighted toward the Gap brand.

Foot Locker to close 140 stores

Zales  is closing 105 stores

Disney will be closing 98 stores. The Walt Disney Company announced that many of the Children stores will be closing also.

Home Depot will be closing 15 of its stores which will affect 1,300 employees. It is the first time the world’s largest home improvement store chain has ever closed because of economic reasons.

Comp-USA all stores (Any extended warranties purchased for products through Comp-USA will be honored by a third-party provider. Gift cards, rain checks, and rebates purchased prior to December 12 can be redeemed at any time during the final sale. For those who have a gadget currently in for service with Comp-USA, the repair will be completed and the gadget will be returned to owners.)

Macy’s has 9 stores going out of business and it is said that 10 more might be closing later this year

Pep Boys has 33 stores closing 

Sprint Nextel has 125  retail locations will closes. over 4000 people will be out of a job in the upcoming year. last year 5000 people where laid off 

J.C. Penny will be laying off over 400 people by the end of the year

Lowe’s will be laying off over 300 workers

Wilson’s leather closing 158 stores starting next year

Dillard’s Inc . will close six more stores because of under performing stores

KB Toys stores is closing over 355 store and has  even failed bankruptcy in parts of the nations.
