Bird Man Might Needs His Money Back
Cash Money Records founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams is accused of dropping the name of the label’s star rapper, Lil’ Wayne, then dropping the ball. According to TMZ.com, concert promoter Jose Fernandez has filed a lawsuit against Williams. Fernandez claims he shelled out 275-thousand dollars to Williams and his associates for a show that never happened. The concert, which was dubbed “Lil Wayne, Birdman & Friends,” was originally scheduled for November 2007 in New Orleans. That show was reportedly cancelled due to lack of time to organize the artists and because, quote, “the weather was too cold.” Fernandez says subsequent 2008 shows in Miami were also cancelled by Williams. He’s seeking more than the original 275-thousand, citing damages for “shame” and “mortification.” “Birdman” Williams is the co-founder of Cash Money Records, which boasts Lil Wayne as one its artists.
