I took some of the first pictures of TI’s baby, Major Harris, but didn’t want bloggers to know it. I thought that if they were smart they would figure it out, P.S. most didn’t. When I send out my photo links I ask bloggers to put a link up and shout me out on their site, some do, most dont.. Why, then today I see that a web site that I asked to link me but didn’t respond, took my picture and didnt give me credit … That’s some bull… I am sending this letter out to all the blogs that I work with. If you have a blog and want me to send you pics please email me at freddyopics@gmail.com - but give me credit for my pics please ….
Where is my name I dont see it any where…?. Why is that ….

Yo name is on my pics, but my mine is not… Y …
To All Bloggers:
It’s not cool how people try to drive traffic to their Wak Blogs but don’t want to give credit or put links to the person’s page that they found the story on…
I send everyone my pics out of love, not cause I have to, but it seems like most of the time people don’t give a da** but I still reach out to help. All week I have been reaching out asking bloggers to link me, let me be on your blog roll. Most bloggers didnt even respond. Why, if I send you an email saying I have pics you quick to say “of who”, but when I ask for help it’s replied “No.”
Some of yall blogs are full of Sh-t. It’s sad when yall act like yall are so busy that you cant pick up the phone or send an email. I know most bloggers dont do half of what I do. You can’t be that busy, if I can go to the club, take the pictures, write the story,(typo’s and all) send the pictures out to different blogs, and still go to a Real JOB!? You need to shut down your lap top, or old a$$ desk Top, and DIE… There’s really only 12 good blogs on the net putting out real stories. I would tell yall the list but there is no need, you know who they are…
Yo I have to say this blogging bullsh@t has really pissed me off … It hurts my heart that these a$$-holes(bloggers) take my pictures and don’t give me credit. That’s not cool. Then they put their logos all over my pic. if you want the pics all I ask is that you give me credit ( a link). If you didn’t pay me, dont put sh#t on my pic .. There is only one blogger that has paid me, and she might be crazy but she always shows love …..
When I send out links, all I ask is that you give me credit. Thats it. (a Link) Take my Pictures Down Now …. My picture is the one at the bottom attached file DSC_0438, if you are not giving me full credit (A link) Please Take all pictures down.
Just so you know, I will know longer ask you, if you put up a picture that I send out to your web site you are obligated to put up the link up (that is what it says on the page that you down loaded the picture from)
My lawyer’s name is Ms Mathis (If you need her email address I will send it to you.) I will no longer ask you to take it down, but go to your hosting provider and send them a letter of Law Suit for copy right infringement and will not be like these other media outlets that let it go, I want a check.
If you have my pic on your page and please take it down NOW and put the one that has my logo up or put a link under my pic … if you can’t then please let me know. I have what we call a lawyer, that can ….
The way I sent the pic out….

Its a picture! So what big deal you can expect everyone to think the way that you do. No disrespect but are you a man or a mouse? Get over it this is the Internet; its kind of difficult to stop things from getting jacked. You really already know that once its out there its fair game. Brush it off & keep it moving. What I find odd is why you had to put the person on blast. Ok s/he jacked your pics so what’s next legal action & senseless ranting?

I saw this on SR and that’s so trifling. Here’s a suggestion FreddyO–watermark your pictures with your url or email address before sending them out. If they want an exclusive un-marked picture then just make them pay you. That’s the only real way to ensure that you will get credit.

Black Bloggers Steal
October 31, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I don’t use your pics on my blog, but I still feel you pain. As a blogger who often gets pics before most other bloggers do, I know what it is like to be stolen from. No, I don’t snap the pics myself but I have sources and actually buy many of my pics from Getty. This hasn’t stopped Media Take Out and Bossip, two of the biggest Black blogs online, from routinely coming to my site, taking my pics and removing the watermark.
Welcome to the world of Black bloggers and prepare yourself now to routinely be stolen from.
I never take images from other bloggers’ site. Why do Black bloggers think it is ok to snatch another blog’s EXCLUSIVE images and put them on their site?
Good for you for calling them out. Call them out and post their names. Shame them publicly if you must.

I am so sorry that this has happen to you…Welcome to the world of black blogging. There are many sites that do not credit images (i.e. Mediatakeout, Bossip).
I hope this post will usher in a new day of crediting sources.
BTW, I love your site. Send your pics my way, you will get credit!!

…it’s hard bein’ a pitcha-pimp! the only thing harder is being a photo-Ho. so, freddy-o, simply resolve yourself to be a “photo-ho-no-mo” (i did in two-thousand and fo) by making sure you get PAID for ALL ya shit! TRUST, as long as you give it away, they’ll be takin’ it like they OWN it and in the REAL world things that have no price tag have no value and very little meaning! soooo, as long as you think you’re enough, make ‘em pay, breeze! make ‘em pay! you’ll sleep better at night. LOL!

Well, I use your pictures on my site and I always provide a link (mentioning your name and posting your link within my blog post as well as under the pictures) to your site. I have to come to your site on my own because although I signed up for your email updates several weeks ago, I have yet to receive one. I even took the liberty of adding your site to my blog roll.
I also feel your pain on having folks tamper with your watermark and impose their tag on your pictures. The same thing happened to me when I first started my blog. My second post were tagged scans of Tyra, Alek, Kimora and Iman in Ebony. Not even a day passed before MediaTakeOut took my photos and placed their tag over them. Now although I didn’t personally snap the pics, I did take the time, energy and patience to scan the photos, tag them and upload them before posting them on my blog. That shit takes a whole lot of time and an abundance of patience…something I don’t possess a lot of. LOL! So it pissed me off to the highest level of pisstivity to see folks coming to my site accusing me of jacking MTO photos when in reality it was the other way around.
I quickly realized that that wouldn’t be the first time they would pull that stunt (they took my Persia White pictures as well as my celebrity kids endorsement ad scans). Thanks to Fresh (crunk & disorderly) I learned a new method of how to strategically place watermarks on my photos at a particular angle so that if anyone tried to manipulate them their (or should I say my) photos would look totally tampered with.
BTW, on the real (and no offense), reading your post damn near made me cross-eyed with all those typos! LMAO!

Quite frankly it is your responsibility to take proactive prevention measures to protect YOUR interest in your intellectual property you created and to rely on a blogger who has no professional relationship with you to put logos or watermarks on your images is more irresponsible of you then them. The fact that you didn’t take the time to protect your own work why do you feel that someone will do a better job? Let me give you a simple example how you would not have a leg to stand on in a court of law. Say X snatched an image from your site and placed it on theirs. Y goes to X site and take the same picture and places it on their site not knowing about the disclaimer that was present on your site when X snatched image from your site. Is Y responsible for giving you credit if he didn’t know about any previous disclaimers? Probably not so where is the copyright violation? Do you know how much it cost to bring a infringement suit to trial? You would probably lose a small claims suit if this happens to be the scenario so now I think about something my mother always told me growing up. ” An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” You should take extreme measures to protect your own work and not leave it up to a third party you don’t even know to do it. If you are really trying to brand your name then do like Thaddeus over at exclusiveaccess dot com or like Sandra Rose Dot com and protect your work. There are many watermarking programs available so you can batch process much of your work and make a lot more money. While we are on the subject of making money I want to touch on the fact how so many “guys with cameras” who call themselves event photographers are shooting themselves in the foot when they give their work away for free like you do Freddyo. Some people make a living shooting events and then try to sell their work to print publications but people like you make it very difficult when you give the whole store away thus ruining other peoples opportunity to sell their work. Handle your business and good luck in whatever you do.

Wow, just as I suspected and of course I am not going to say I told you so but since X (Black Celebrity Kids) just confirmed what I suggested about knowing the origin of your images, it just reinforces what I previous suggested about taking proactive measures in safeguarding your work. Either the blog in question genuinely didn’t know or X read my analogy and used it as a defense. In any event X understood the importance of giving credit where credit was due. In the infamous words of Rodney King, “can we all just get along?”

I can understand your frustration since you are the one actually taking the photos but if you don’t want people to use your photos stop sending them out to people. You took it upon yourself to send them to folks, unsolicited I might add, and then get mad when they don’t link to you. You can ask them to link or credit you and it is the right thing to do but they aren’t obligated to do so just as you aren’t obligated to send out your work. You’re trying to get more readers to your site by sending your photos to people and then want to call them wack when they don’t credit you. I read a lot of blogs and mostly all of them have the same photos anyway and they have to get them from somewhere. You send your photos to someone, they post them, someone else sees them on that site and then they post them and so on and so on. Stop trying to solicit the popular blogs to link to you and keep your photos to yourself, especially if they are exclusives. If your site is a good one with exclusive photos, people will notice and will frequent your site regardless. Oh and spell check is your friend!
