Whitney Sued Over Father’s Estate By Stepmom and Bob, Is Back Wit Her

Whitney Houston’s stepmom is accusing the singer of leaving her with nothing at all.  According to TMZ.com, Barbara Houston filed a lawsuit against Whitney back in May.  At issue is a one-million-dollar life insurance policy that Houston’s father, John Houston, left to Whitney before he died in 2003.  Barbara claims Whitney was supposed to use the money to pay off the mortgage on John’s apartment, then give the title to the property and the remaining money back to Barbara.  But Barbara claims she still hasn’t received anything from Whitney.  TMZ says Whitney denies the allegations.

John Houston filed a 100-million-dollar lawsuit against Whitney back in 2002, claiming his company was never compensated for managing Whitney’s affairs.  The suit was dismissed in 2004, more than a year after John’s death.

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown have been spotted together in recent days, reports the Chicago Sun-Times, and “clearly looking very romantic while dining together” at that. Apparently, the couple’s baby girl Bobbi Kristina is “eager” for her parents to remarry.

Whit – says she and BB are just “good friends”.

Brandy Admits To Lying About Her Fake Marriage

Wednesday November 26th 2008

Dime Wars is reporting :It’s taken several years but Brandy finally fesses up and talks about her fake marriage to her baby daddy Robert Smith.

In 2002, Brandy got pregnant and wanted to maintain her good girl image, so she put out a bogus statement saying that she and Robert had secretly wed in 2001. Well the ‘RN’ that she fake married, put her on blast in a radio interview after the couple split in 2003 and revealed the two of them were never married, to which Brandy responded that she and the music producer shared a ‘’spiritual union and a true commitment to each other.” ( Rolling my eyes at that ish…)

Fast forward to 2008 and Brandy is now coming clean in the current issue of US Weekly, on newsstands Friday. According to her:

“The statement was a mistake on my part, because that wasn’t true.  I never married her (referring to her daughter) dad. That was something that should not have ever been said…I lied because of the fear of what people would think and the pressure to be a role model. I didn’t want to be seen as not married and having a baby. For how I was raised, it wasn’t something that should have happened, but it did. I didn’t want to disappoint people. I’m sorry I misled my fans. Truly, truly sorry – like, a little bit of tears now. I was just trying to protect everything that I ever worked for – my image. I was very young and afraid that people would judge and criticize.”

Come on Brandy, just admit it, you were trying to be a hot @ss and you got knocked-up…ish happens!

They may be newlyweds, but Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon already have babies on the brain.  Backstage at Sunday night’s American Music Awards in Los Angeles, Cannon told “Entertainment Tonight” that he and his wife of six months do plan on starting a family.  He said, quote, “That’s the whole purpose of marriage — is to build a family, and when we start building a family we’ll let y’all know.”  Carey performed her hit “I’ll Stay In Love” at the star studded event.  Her husband, who is ten years her junior, welcomed Carey to the stage and kissed her on the hand before she performed.

Welcome to Dreamland

Humility is rare but a necessity in this business especially for up and coming artists. Bottom line, it must exist for success. Last week, that was made clear to me when someone busted their a$$ in front of hundreds while trying to be extra. You never know how much time you have in the spotlight to show yourself. With that said, this season Peachtree TV’s Welcome to Dreamland is going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The Show is about artist trying to make it big in the music industry and all the different steps you have to take to make it to the top. And you’ll never guess who’ll take home the top prize!Ryan and James (Peachtree TV)

One of last weeks final competitors revealed her true colors in the short time I met her. She was very rude and unpleasant – Maybe it was because she lost. However, win or lose, it’s all about attitude. When I asked her to take a photo with the winning finalist, she looked at me, rolled her eyes and said, “You need to go get her and bring her to me,” then tossed her hair and continued her conversation. Graciously, the winner walked all the way across the stage to take the picture with the icy queen runner-up. Today’s lesson: You never know who you’re talking to in this business. Do yourself a favor and treat everyone with respect!

On another note, shout out to the Peachtree TV family and James Dubose, for putting together a spectacular program! you can see all the picture Click Here

The 2008 Dirty Awards

Monday night, Radio One’s HOT 107.9 presented it’s 2008 Dirty Awards in Atlanta, Ga.  The event was very nicely put together and despite a few mishaps, I enjoyed myself. “Hot” showed me so much love and invited me out, all the while giving me the scoop and exclusive on things.

This year’s show was craaazzzyy! Of course, I have the good and the bad for you. Good: All of the city’s major industry rappers were in attendance and really showed love: Ludacris, Rick Ross, Trina, Gorilla Zoe, Common, T.I., Keri Hilson, Princess and Diamond, Monica, and many, many more. The show honored artists for their services in the community, like T.I’s ’It’s Cool to be Smart’” program which helps uplift children in the community. This might be the only event put on by a radio station that honors top rap artists in the music game.

Unforteuntely, I have to report the bad: Folks got hurt! There were two SEPARATE altercations during the course of the show, (one case in which yours truly was pepper sprayed).

I have to say, sometimes these artists get so excited about all the extra stuff that comes along with the fame and they forget about the love of the music.

One thing was clear, these people have STRONG allegiances to their respective crews – Like warriors going to battle; And that’s just what happened at The Georgia International Congress Center.

Although I was peppered sprayed and can barely see through the tearing right now as I type, I had a great time! I wanna thank Hot for showing me love. P.S. Someone told me that milk is good for the eyes after being sprayed. Anybody know if that’s true?

On another note, as I was leaving, I heard one girl say “This is some ni**a s#!t.” And I thought, Nah this is some people sh!t. I don’t think that these events can be defined by race because it could have happened to any group of people.  And I hate to the see hard work, time effort and energy of others go to waste and it is unfortunate that the negative event overshadowed the numerous positive ones.
