Beyonce Wants To Be The First Black “Wonder Woman”

Beyonce says the movie world is ready for a “black Wonder Woman.” The superstar singer is making a hard pitch to play the superheroine on the big screen. Beyonce tells “The Los Angeles Times” that she has already met with reps from DC Comics and Warner Bros. about bringing the amulet-wearing Amazon to life. She says, quote, “A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that right?” If she does land the role, Beyonce Knowles-Carter could become the second Carter to don the Wonder Woman costume. Actress Lynda Carter made the role famous in the fantasy-adventure TV series that aired during the 1970s. Beyonce gained her Carter connection through marriage. She tied the knot with rap superstar Sean “Jay-Z” Carter in April of this year.
