Beyonce Goes Goth at Europe MTV Awards

Once again, Beyonce Knowles surprised everyone by arriving at the MTV Europe Awards decked out in not one, but two dresses from the extra edgy British designer Gareth Pugh. Mrs. Carter, who usually opts for the elegant, curve-hugging, ever-flowying gowns decided to switch it up and go rock! About the new look, Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter says, “Gareth Pugh’s work is explosive and she had to wear it. She thinks he is an amazing talent.” The British designer is known for bringing to life the dark, goth-like style with incredible architectural details. While onstage, ‘Sasha” got down in a dress which is made of elastic bands and several rows of YKK zippers. Pugh told PEOPLE, “I’m delighted she wore my dresses, she looked fantastic.”

We agree and we love that Beyonce is supporting young up-and-coming designers while trying out cool, fresh new looks. The new wave design starts at $1700 and going to upwards of $3500.
