The Jerry Clark Foundation Winter Baseball Camp

January 27th 2009

Over the weekend, Jerry Clark and his newly founded Jerry Clark Foundation, along with World Series Champion and three-time All Star Tom Gordon hosted the first annual Tom Gordon Winter Baseball Camp.  The camp sponsored by The Frank Ski Kids Foundation, The Brand Banking Co., J Erving Group, Dr. Maurice Jove-Sports & Orthopedics, and CRG was a huge success.

Approximately 150 boys (ages 6-14) had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of baseball from baseball professionals.  Campers received instructions from Major League Baseball current players Tom Gordon (2009 World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies), Devaris Strange-Gordon (Los Angeles Dodgers), and Baron Short  (Los Angeles Angels) as well as former MLB players Brian Jordan (Atlanta Braves) and Jeff Keys (Philadelphia Phillies).  Camp workout included stretching and conditioning with physical trainers from Energy Fitness, as well as pitching, fielding, and hitting instructions.  To conclude the weekend camp, each camper received a certificate of completion, a camp T-shirt, and a motivation speech from surprise guest, Grammy-nominated Hip-Hop artist, Young Joc.

The winter baseball camp is the first of many great things to come from The Jerry Clark Foundation. The foundation will host several events throughout the years, as well as partner with other key figures and organizations in an attempt to increase their community outreach.

  • Looking to Jerry Clark for guidance for childs baseball career, is asking for a HUGE DISASTER….if your in the east metro Atlanta area, look up Bill Dallas in Covington. Hands down the best baseball man in Atlanta.

  • I’ve watched Jerry Clark and his foundation do wonderful things for young black males. He doesn’t just stress baseball, but he is great teaching young men valuable lessons. I’ve never heard of Bill Dallas, but Mr. Clark isnt just a baseball man. Very good with working with kids
