Beyonce Awarding $250K For Best Imitation Of Her “Single Ladies” Video

February 24th 2009

If you have what it takes to move like Beyonce, it could earn you a quarter-of-a-million dollars. The singer recently posted an announcement on her website looking for the best fan-created imitation of her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” video. Not only will the winner receive 250-thousand dollars, the winning clip will be shown on Beyonce’s “I Am…” World Tour this year. The announcement notes that entrants must be at least 18 years old, and live in the U.S., the UK or one of 16 other countries or territories. Entries must be submitted by March 6th. Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” video has been the focus of many YouTube parodies. “Saturday Night Live” even made fun of the clip last November, when Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan donned leotards and tried to mimic Beyonce’s moves. The choreography in the video was based on a 1960s Bob Fosse routine.
