Upcoming “America’s Next Top Model” To Feature Short Models
Tyra Banks is opening new doors for shorter models on “America’s Next Top Model.” Cycle 12 is on its way in March, but Banks says Cycle 13 will only accept wannabe models five-feet-seven-inches and shorter. TVGuide.com quotes Banks who says Cycle 13 is all about catering to the shorter model. She adds, quote, “There have been top supermodels in the past that weren’t as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss.” She adds that Cycle 13 is all about catering to the shorter model. This isn’t the first time Banks has raised eyebrows with the format of her show. In Cycle 11, she allowed the first ever transgendered contestant to enter the competition. Although the 22-year-old was eliminated from the competition, Banks later surprised her with a 35-thousand-dollar gender reassignment surgery. The two-hour premiere of “America’s Next Top Model’s” Cycle 12 kicks off Wednesday, March 4th on the CW.
