Tupac’s Mother Files Countersuit Over Movie

Tupac’s mom is firing back at a film company that filed a lawsuit against the late rapper’s estate. “The Hollywood Reporter” says Afeni Shakur’s Amaru Entertainment has launched a countersuit against Morgan Creek. Afeni claims the company attempted to “strong arm” her into a deal for the film rights to Tupac’s life. When that didn’t work, Afeni says Morgan Creek’s higher-ups tried to sabotage her attempts to work with companies like Paramount and Fox. She’s seeking millions in damages. Morgan Creek filed their suit last month, alleging they had a signed contract with Amaru Entertainment, which Afeni’s company refuses to honor. Tupac Shakur was shot in a driveby shooting on the busy Las Vegas strip in September 1996. The rapper died of his injuries several days later
