Pop singer Rihanna’s hard work to help a Leukemia-stricken little girl has finally paid off. “Access Hollywood” reports six-year-old Jasmina has received not one, but two possible bone marrow donor matches since Rihanna reached out to the public to help the child. The singer visited the little girl last month at the NYU Medical Center where she is currently hospitalized. She spent hours playing with Jasmina and even danced with her to some of Jasmina’s favorite Rihanna tunes. Within months of Rihanna making Jasmina’s search for a donor public, more than four-thousand people came forward. The singer told “People” magazine previously, quote, “We can take action and sign up to be bone marrow donors. We can save the life of Jasmina and others like her.” Earlier this week, Rihanna joined Kylie Minogue, Natasha Bedingfield and Halle Berry at the 2nd Annual Linked Against Leukemia Gala in New York City. The event raised money to benefit DKMS, the largest bone marrow donation center in the world. 

Lil  Kim is moving on from “Dancing With the Stars” and back to her literary project. In an interview with “OK! Magazine,” the rapper admitted that she’s wrapping up a book called “The Price of Loyalty,” which has been in the works for a couple of years. Kim noted the book will focus on her time behind bars back in 2005 and 2006. She added the project, which currently has no release date, will, quote, “Give people who have been in those situations a bright outlook on life.” Lil’ Kim also hopes to get some new music out soon. She said, quote, “I just want to get the perfect song and maybe in a couple weeks, release something.” Lil’ Kim was sentenced to 366 days in prison back 2005 for lying to a grand jury about her knowledge of a shootout that took place outside of a New York radio station in 2001. The rapper served ten months of that sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia. I wonder if she will talk about having her stomach pumped because of all those semen protein shakes she had… LOL 

Cassie is asking everyone to “grow up” in the wake of her nude photos that leaked on the Internet. In a posting on her website, the R&B singer noted the pictures were, quote, “hacked and stolen out of my computer.” She added that the topless images were “never intended” for the public to see, and called those responsible for leaking them, quote, “evil.” Cassie then asked everyone to just “move on” from the situation. The photo scandal comes a little over a month before Cassie’s sophomore album, “Electro Love,” is due out. The disc is currently scheduled to hit stores on June 23rd.

                    Eminem Opens Up About Drug Addiction

It seems Eminem’s new CD “Relapse” comes from his personal history. The rapper talks about his own battles with drug addiction in the upcoming issue of “Vibe” magazine. Em admits he “almost died” after overdosing on methadone, and notes that at one point he was taking between ten to 20 Vicodin per day. The rapper adds, quote, “Now that I understand that I’m an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. I get it.” Em says he’s been sober for a year now. His newfound sobriety has him feeling like “a little kid” when it comes to his music. He notes that in his early days, rap was his “drug,” but at some point it stopped making him “high,” which resulted in his turn to prescription pills. Em says that now, quote, “rap’s getting me high again.” The issue of “Vibe,” which features Eminem on the cover, hits newsstands May 19th. Eminem’s “Relapse” is the rapper’s first CD in five years. It also hits stores on May 19th. Currently, three tracks from the album are available on iTunes — “Crack a Bottle,” “We Made You” and “3AM.” A new song, titled “Old Time’s Sake,” will be released on iTunes Tuesday.

     Jennifer Hudson Cancels Concerts Following Throat Condition

Singer Jennifer Hudson has been forced to cancel some concert stops on her co-headlining tour with Robin Thicke this week due to a throat condition. E! Online reports the GRAMMY winner is being treated by doctors after falling ill over the weekend. The condition is said to be related to her singing. Hudson last performed at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on Saturday night but managed to hide any signs of throat pain. The show cancelations this week could include venues in Dallas, Houston, Phoenix and Miloxi, Mississippi. Sunday night’s concert in Oakland California has already been rescheduled to take place on May 19th. 

Congratulations are in order for rap veteran MC Lyte.  According to eurweb.com, Lyte will now become the Vice President of James DuBuse, the reality television producers,(James has done show like “The Keyshia Cole Show, Hell Date, And Monica’s New show, One ON One) new artist development company DuBose Music Group.

The recording artist and writer will be tasked with shepherding DMG’s talent acquisitions and artist development, according to a statement released by the company.

“Lyte is a rap music icon and music scholar with a wealth of industry connections and an extensive knowledge of urban music,” said James DuBose, CEO of DuBose Entertainment. “With Lyte at the helm, DMG is perfectly positioned to usher in the next generation of artists and influence a new generation of music fans.”      

       As her first major deal since joining DMG, Lyte announced the signing of Tenille Johnson, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Atlanta who has already completed recording several tracks for her debut album.      

 Rap Star Cassidy held it down in the ATL last night at a private meet & greet. Cassidy is currently signed to NBA star Carmelo Anthony’s record label Krossover ENT… and his own label entitled” larsiny Family ENT…

Last night at Cassidy’s listening party at one of Atlanta top recording studios, Hot-beats, I was so hungry that I forgot that I didn’t buy any food and began to eat all his…. LOL Thats why its always important to ask before you eat… Thank god his people weren’t goons and didnt trying to kick my A**… LOL but they were like Nigg* how you going to eat that mans chicken”. They felt bad for me cause I looked hungry, or maybe fat either or,-So they took me out to eat and bought me what ever I wanted much love… Got nothing but respect and love for them. Andre 3000 Makes Appearance As Georgia Governor Signs Speeding Law

Andre 3000 is trying to make amends for his recent speeding violation. Georgia TV station WJBF reports the OutKast rapper was on hand Tuesday as the state’s governor signed a new law into effect to create higher fines for excessive speeding. Andre 3000 also toured a children’s trauma center with Governor Sonny Perdue to help bring awareness to the dangers caused by reckless driving. Georgia’s new law, which goes into effect July 1st, adds extra fines for people who are deemed “Super Speeders.” Portions of the funds collected through the fines will help fund trauma care centers in the state. Andre 3000 was arrested back in March for travelling 109 miles-per-hour in a 65 mile-per-hour zone. He was able to avoid a court appearance by shelling out 12-hundred dollars in fines.

A statement posted on 50 Cent’s official Web site claims he has been officially cleared of having any involvement with a fire that broke out last year at his Long Island home, where his ex-girlfriend was living at the time with their son.

       The home, purchased for Shaniqua Tompkins, caught on fire in May 2008. Tompkins had stated publically that she believes 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, masterminded the blaze in an attempt to get her out of the $1.4 million home.       

       According to the statement on thisis50.com, “The police department and insurance investigators ruled that there is absolutely no proof or evidence suggesting that Curtis Jackson or any affiliated parties were involved. Curtis Jackson has just been cleared of all the accusations. The investigation will continue until the guilty party is found.”
