Suge Knight Receives Cease-And-Desist Order Over Record Company Name

Suge Knight’s new record company is already running into some problems. According to TMZ.com, the former Death Row Records head has received a cease and desist letter over his new label, Blackball Records. Another company using the moniker Black Ball Records claims they’ve had a copyright on the name since 2002. Both parties have reportedly been trying to reach a settlement in the matter. Knight claims he filed for a copyright in 2006, but dropped the claim this year. Suge Knight co-founded Death Row Records in 1991. He filed for bankruptcy in 2006 after a judge ordered him to pay 107-million dollars to Lydia Harris, a woman who claimed Knight cheated her and her husband out of their 50-percent stake in the company.
