It looks like Eve will be making a short return to the small screen. According to “Entertainment Weekly,” the rapper-actress has been tapped to appear on two episodes of Fox’s new series “Glee.” Eve will reportedly play a strict girls’ choir director from a school that rivals the show’s McKinley High School. Eve landed the role after Whitney Houston passed on it. “Glee,” which stars Matthew Morrison and Jessalyn Gilsig, aired a pilot episode in May. The series is expected to begin its full-time run on September 16th. No word on when Eve’s two-episode arc will air. Eve’s acting career has included several TV projects. From 2003 to 2006, the rapper starred in her own self-titled sitcom on the now-defunct UPN network. She also made guest appearances on the shows “Third Watch” and “One on One.” Eve has also starred in the films “Barbershop,” “XXX” and “The Cookout.”

Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, CNN has confirmed. Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN. Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles, California, Thursday morning. Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.

Will Chris Brown’s recent guilty plea to the February beating of Rihanna affect his career. That’s what some experts are pondering. People.com cites branding expert Marvet Britto who believes Brown will have “serious problems” in getting his music career back on track. She said of the singer, quote, “He beat up this beautiful young woman that everyone loves, and now no one wants to touch him.” Britto adds that the parents of Brown’s young fans are concerned. New York City clinical psychologist Jeffrey Gardere says that in admitting guilt, Brown has accepted responsibility for his behavior. Gardere says Brown will also attend court-mandated classes to figure out what made him become violent in the first place. Dr. Lenore Walker, a professor of psychology at NOVA Southeastern University, says Brown will have a lot of people looking out for him from now on to ensure he doesn’t resort to violence in the future. Despite initially pleading not guilty to the felony charges, Brown accepted a plea bargain on Monday. He was also sentenced to probation and ordered to perform community service.

Fifty Cent is very pleased with his next album. The rapper tells MTV.com that he’s nearly finished with “Before I Self Destruct,” and declares it, quote, “as close to perfect as it’s gonna get.” The disc will feature production from Dr. Dre, Polow Da Don and Timbaland. Fifty notes that working with Timbaland involves a lot of comprising. He adds that Timbaland does things differently than he does, citing “Ayo Technology” as a good example because, quote, “you never heard me rap with that cadence.” Fifty’s “Before I Self Destruct” is currently on its third incarnation. It was originally due out in 2007, but is now slated to hit stores on September 8th. In the meantime, 50 Cent plans to spend his summer releasing unrelated projects. He recently put out a mixtape called “War Angel LP.” That will be followed by a 90s-based mixtape called “Sincerely Southside Part 2″ and a G-Unit mixtape.

              Beyonce Among “Forbes’” Top-Earning Musicians

Beyonce is once again earning recognition for her earnings. The former Destiny’s Child star landed at number three on “Forbes” magazine’s Top-Earning Musicians list. Her take of 87-million dollars over the past 12 months stems from her music career as well as her movie work and numerous endorsements, along with high-profile performances at one of President Obama’s inaugural balls and at the Oscars. The only two stars to beat out Beyonce were Madonna and Celine Dion. The Material Girl topped the list with 110-million in earnings, while Dion took home 100 million. Earlier this year, Beyonce landed at number four on “Forbes’” Celebrity 100 list, while her hubby Jay-Z came in at number 32.

                 Lil Wayne’s Defense Targets Drug-Sniffing Dogs

Lil Wayne’s attorneys are calling his Arizona drug case, quote, “winnable.” The “Yuma Sun” reports the rapper and his lawyers were in a Yuma courtroom Tuesday for a hearing in the matter. Wayne’s defense team spent most of the time addressing the training that was given to the drug-sniffing dogs who allegedly alerted officials to the presence of illegal substances on the rapper’s bus last year. The rapper’s attorneys claimed they have yet to receive the information they requested. Prosecutors countered that they’re being stonewalled by the Border Patrol, so the judge promised to “take action.” Wayne’s lawyers also asked for access to video footage from the arrest to make sure the dogs properly alerted agents. Attorney James Tilson said, quote, “If the dogs weren’t properly trained, then we can file a motion to suppress any evidence that resulted from it.” He added that his goal is to have all charges against Lil Wayne dropped. Lil Wayne is facing four counts in Yuma, stemming from a January 2008 arrest. DEA agents claimed they found marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and a gun on Lil Wayne’s tour bus. The rapper also has a gun possession trial on deck in New York. That case stems from a July 2007 arrest, where cops claim they found the rapper in possession of a 40-caliber pistol. The rapper has pleaded not guilty in both cases.

Jill Scott revealed to Essence.com that she and her fiance who is also her backup drummer Lil John have split. This is crazy to me cause she just had her baby, Jet with John, I would think they would try to work things out. This is what she told Essence.com :

ESSENCE.COM: Congrats to you on your new bundle of joy, Jett Hamilton. How has motherhood been treating you?

SCOTT: Wonderful. I named him after a black gemstone that my makeup artist in Africa had; it was simply called Jet, and I fell in love with it and the name because I thought my beautiful baby is a gem. I truly loved being pregnant and feeling what was going on inside my body and watching it change. It’s difficult to recoup but still amazing nonetheless. I would have another one.

ESSENCE.COM: So does that mean you had an easy labor of love?

SCOTT: Not at all. I was in labor for 36 hours. After that experience, anytime I have reservations and think I can’t do anything I remind myself that I survived the birth of my child (Laughs). Although I didn’t scream my baby into this world, the pain continued after he was born for at least three weeks. During labor I felt like I needed to put the fire out. Everybody kept telling me the pain wasn’t going to last forever but after 20 hours of it I left the building. I felt like I was on the ceiling looking down at myself like, Dag, girl, you still in labor? I know my experience isn’t everyone’s but I believe people need to be realistic when sharing their stories about their pregnancies and birth. When he arrived I held him in my arms for about an hour and then went to sleep because I was simply exhausted.

ESSENCE.COM: Well, at least your hubby-to-be was there to support. How has he been adjusting to Jett?

SCOTT: Yes, he was there and for a couple of days afterwards while I stayed in hospital, but John and I are no longer together. When you have a baby you’re dealing with a lot of emotions and I don’t know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens. We definitely love our son and we are co-parenting and working on being friends. It is what it is. I have a lot of support, so I want for nothing as far as that’s concerned. I know some might criticize me or the fact that my son is being raised in a single-parent home, but I wasn’t raised in a two-parent home and I had a good relationship with my dad. I have hopes for him and I’m sure his father will do his part as well.

Last week I told yall that R. Kelly had to cancel his video shoot because of passport issues well turn out the reason he is having passport issues is because he is accused of scamming people with fake concerts. TMZ reported:

R. Kelly has been dragged into a massive investigation in South Africa — but the singer claims he’s the victim of a grifter gone mad. It all started when a woman accused of scamming more than 50 people out of tons of money claimed Kelly played a part in the plot. She allegedly conned her victims into investing money in an R. Kelly tour that never existed. The woman reportedly says she deposited the money into Kelly’s bank account. She’s been charged with more than 60 counts of fraud — and Kelly is wanted for questioning. Kelly is vehemently denying involvement — his publicist said: “The woman has no connection at all with R. Kelly. This is just some con woman who swindled a bunch of people out of money. R. Kelly had no knowledge of this, he’s just as upset as anyone.”
