Chris Brown “Furious” Over BET Awards Absence
Chris Brown’s absence from Sunday night’s BET Awards doesn’t appear to be sitting too well with the troubled pop star. The “New York Daily News” is reporting that Brown was “furious” over being left out of the ceremony. A friend of the singer tells the “Daily News,” quote, “BET asked him to perform and waited until the last minute to tell him it was off. He’s pretty shocked and outraged right now.” Insiders allege that Brown’s appearance at an event that was honoring Michael Jackson would have been a risky business move on BET’s part. Sources are also claiming that big names like Reverend Al Sharpton and rapper Jay-Z spoke to the network and said they didn’t want Brown to be present. One source states, quote, “Jay is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn’t want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court’s ruling.”
Reps for both Brown and BET have stated that the singer was never confirmed to perform at the show. Last week, Chris Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault for attacking pop starlet Rihanna back in February. Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community service. The 20-year-old will also have to undergo a year-long domestic-violence counseling class and remain at least 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times.

He’s outraged! Does he really have the right to be? Come on, do you think BET wanted to bring on the type of unwanted attention that would come from having Chris Brown perform. Especially when the show was dedicated to Michael Jackson and his legacy. They are already getting slack from allowing Lil’ Wayne to have those young girls up on stage when he was performing. I feel he doesn’t have the right to be outraged at all. Sit back and take your lumps, you were able to give them out, right?

-Are you kidding? Wasn’t Jay Z caught on tape beating up a black girl? It’s on youtube! MJ bribed his first accuser with $10 million in order for him NOT to come forward, so what does that say ’bout him? Isn’t he forgiven? What about the new drug allegations? Aren’t we forgiving a drug addict/pedophile?
-Any tribute to MJ without Chris Brown, Usher, or Quincy Jones is…incomplete! That BET award/tribute is NOTHING less that a Jamie Foxx plug for his CD and his upcoming tour!!
-If MJ would be asked, he’d have wanted CB to be there – PERIOD! How dare Jay Z and that no talent “HO” of his do that to MJ? He had no right!!
That said, I don’t think I’ll support Jay Z again, and YES, I did go to see Obsessed, now I regret it!!

I actually feel Chris Brown will have a little trouble from here on out with his career, domestic voilence is a big topic right now. Women are being killed by mad, insane lovers and Chris seems to be one, I don’t feel that was the first time he hit her, if that was the first time, next time he’ll kill her.
