This commitment ceremony took place in Minneapolis. They met in Atlanta last year. Nevertheless, it speaks columns to say that the state of the Black family has reached its point of consisting of a STRONG BLACK MAN and a STRONG BLACK WOMAN.

Now, I had no intention of commenting on this until I read your comment. You are right but rather than remain single, I would strongly encourage women to start weighing their options elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with it because waiting on a STRONG BLACK MAN could just be that; WAITING. It is obvious where things are going with the lot of black men (not all but the lot) so to all the ladies out there, stop twiddling your thumbs.

First let me say, we have been married and in love since the day we met, no disrrespect to anyone but who the fuck cares about what we do as grown ass men payin our own bills, pay our taxes and take care of our children and yes i said children, if you dont like what we and how we do things then fuck it and fuck you, we didnt ask for our wedding pictures to be stolen and published for others to make fun of our have sumthin to say about it………..we did this to prove that u dont need a peice of fuckin paper to say that we are married and in love, we have to money to do what ever the fuck we want to do so we did it…………..now i want to get this shit str8, we do not live in fuckin atlanta, we live in minneapolis, atlanta gay people would not do what and how we did this (to many dl and undercover men in atl) …………..we are who we are love us or leave us the fuck alone…………….

Much respect to the men that are gay and not on the down low. So I have to say really—much respect. There are so many brothers that are gay and have girlfriends, (trust me, I know). I heard stories about down low brothers and their gay boy toys getting it on while their girl is at work paying the bills, while he at ……there….. home living out his gay fantasies. I can’t help but to applaud these two brothers for being there self. Good luck……in so many ways. ////////////P.S. you brothers couldn’t look no betta even if you tried. I have to say that the hateful comments are unnecessary. If you don’t approve, that is your choice but to make hateful comments is out of line. These two men know who they are which is more than most of us can say and are not afraid to tell it. It seems that this was not an attention getter but pictures that were taken from Facebook and put in several viral emails. I just wish they lived where I do cause these brothers can do some hair and I could use a new cosmotologist. Michael and Jamil, much love you to you both and live your lives how you want. Don’t let the haters get you down or bring down the happiness of your union.

First off, I’d like to say congrats to Michael K. Cole & Jamil Smith Cole…you are an example of what real love is all about. It’s unfortunate that your photos were stolen and published without your permission, but nonetheless your photos are beautiful. Keep doing your thang!
I think a deeper problem must be addressed here among us black folks. The negative comments directed towards this loving same-sex couple, illustrates a major problem in black communities. Some black folks like to blame the gays, especially Black LGBT’s for the downfall of Black society and Black families. Scapegoating Black LGBT’s is certainly not going to help Black communities progress. Focus on poverty, drugs, racism, and PARTICULARLY irresponsible absentee black fathers…this is what leading to the downfall of black families, NOT Black LGBT’s.
As for single black women insulting this couple…stop wearing your desperation on your sleeve and fix up your low self-esteem. I’m sick of black sisters say that they have to wait for some decent Black man, like they are the Alpha and Omega of their lives. Statistically, Black men tend to date outside their race. Single Black women have that option too. There are plenty of non-black men that find Black sisters attractive It’s time to stop this “woe is me…nobody wants me attitude”…it’s not cute.
Plus, there is nothing wrong with staying single either, you still can have fulfilling lives. I think it’s also not fair when single people get stigmatized and stereotyped because they single. Better to be alone, than being with some jerk who’s gonna give you a headache and heartbreak.
I know people gonna get on me for this, but this homophobic shit needs to stop for real! We need to shift our energy on other issues that affect our lives.

Let me start by saying RAMBO2470, you’re an idiot and the reason they invented birth control. How could you think this was just for attention when their pics were stolen from thier page. Who wants this kind of negative attention from a bunch a small minded ignorant people.
To the ladies, they are gay so guess what they don’t want you. You should be happy they’re openly gay, that’s one less boyfriend ytou have to try and figure out if they are on the down low. The only thing that’s going on is that people are intent on being happy with themselves. IF they were straight who’s to say that they would be looking at you anyway. So instead of saying that all the good black men are gay, in jail or married maybe you need to stop looking for one and listen to the bible “HE WHO FINDETH A WIFE FINDETH A GOOD THING AND OBTAINETH FAVOR FROM GOD”.
God has everything worked out if it is meant for you to be married then he will send your husband your way. Desparation is not attractive at any level and that’s what it comes across many times (even if your not desparate).
