The Violence Must Stop!
All this violence taking place today among our youth, breaks my heart. I know there is a high crime rate in the city of Richmond, Ca; but never in a million years did i ever think that someone would stand by and let something like this happen.
While everyone was inside enjoying the homecoming dance at Richmond High School, a 15 year old girl was outside on the ground getting gang raped, while 15 or more people stood by and watched; and some even jumped in and participated. When they found the girl she was under a bench and unconcsious. She had to be lifeflighted to the hospital, where they announced her to be in critical condition.The girl is now stable and is still in the hospital.
According to CNN as of Monday they have two of the suspects in custody. What continues to baffle me is that so many people stood by and watched something so tragic happen. People we have to stop all of this violence, we are doing nothing but killing ourselves, when in reality we need to find ways to uplift our people and ourselves. What is this world coming to when you can’t go to your homecoming dance without worrying about stuff like this now??

I live in central Cakifornia and this is part of the reason that my husband and I moved our family out of the Bay Area. My cousin is a teacher at Richmond High School, and this was devistating to everybody we know. Although we don’t personally know this young lady, we have a seventeen year old daughter, so imagine how we felt. I am very happy to report that the young lady is out of the hospital, and is reported to be doing “as well as can be expected”. The Richmond police have arrested 6 of the suspected 10 men and boys that were involved. Please keep this young lady and her family in your prayers.
