Rihanna Says She Is Embarrassed She Ever Loved Chris Brown.. But Why?
Only after she had a revelation about her duty to her fans did Rihanna realize that she had to speak out about how she was a victim of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s domestic abuse. And now? Now she’s almost ashamed of herself for having gotten into a relationship with him in the first place.
“I fell in love with this person,” she tells Diane Sawyer in an interview that aired on Good Morning America Thursday. “That’s embarrassing.” The singer, 21, also hinted that it may have taken “eight or nine attempts” before she could finally leave the relationship.
“It’s pretty easy to go back,” she says, affirming Sawyer’s statement that the average woman makes seven attempts to leave an abusive partner. “You start lying to yourself. The physical wounds go away. You want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don’t want to ever have again.”
Now a reconciliation is all but impossible –
a judge has ordered Brown, 20, not to contact Rihanna (real name: Robin Fenty) for five years as part of his sentence. Rihanna says she was further humiliated by the public nature of the incident, which included a leaked photo of her battered face.
“I was like, here goes my little bit of privacy,” she says.
But she had an epiphany about how her actions after the assault would affect thousands of impressionable girls.
“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she says. “I couldn’t be responsible for that. Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say they won’t kill these girls? I didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”

Im not saying it’s right but she didn’t need to go on tv with an interview she kept quiet so long if she wanted to help the girls fine be a humanitarian but don’t wait to use this time for publicity around your album! I don’t have sympathy for what went on between because I have been through that many times over in every relationship except 2 out of the 10 and I think it’s breaking the depression that causes these relationships! Poor Chris see once he hit her he now runs the risk of doing it again in another relationship!

I have no sympathy for either one of them. I’m willing to bet that this incident was NOT the first time they had a fight. It’s just the first time that the police were called & it was made public.
Rhianna may have taken the brunt of the blows but I’m sure Chris took a couple of slugs from her, too. Why wasn’t she charged?

I think the interview was not helpful to her, Chris Brown, or any women going through similar situations because why would you go on TV saying you are embarassed. Embarassment is another reason why women/men stay in the relationship. It might have a negative effect and make them seclude themselves even more and not want to ask for help for fear embarassment and judgement. What she should say is she is a survivor and it happened and I took a stand and got out of it. I am with the first person…Had she not had an album coming out I don’t think she would have spoke up.

idk if its possible for them 2 rekindle what they have but i hope that they both can move on and make great music….i do feel that rihanna needs 2 revamp her whole style right now b/c its not working 4 me

I agree with most of the comments, I don’t believe this was the first incident they have had just the fist time the police was called. I’m not condoning what happened you should never put your hands on anyone, male or female. If this was a “white” we wouldn’t know much about what happened. Chris made a mistake but should the media ruin his life because of one mistake. BeBe Winians did the same thing, nothing is being about that. I think we are too judgmental

Rhianna needs to stop. I’m not sure if any of you thought of this but if Chris was that bad she would have never picked up his phone and questioned him. If a man is beating you down like that you stay shut. My dad use to beat my mom and my mom use to tiptoe around him until she had a planof escape. She hit Chris just as much as he hit her. She was all in his face. She just wasnt expecting to get popped like that. Yeah she use to beat Chris butt…he got tired of it and flipped. Was it right no… but if you hit a man be ready to fight like a man. She is a hot mess and she really needs help. Its funny she is doing this before her album release and all them crazy ass songs. If I was a fly on the wall. If a dude beat me like that I would want nothin to do with him. Yeah she miss him… she dont know what to do now. So she just trying to dig a deeper ditch for him. but there isi someone that has witnessed her hitting him and I hope they come forward… She makes me upset that she is playing it like a victim….
