It’s a done deal. Rapper Petey Pablo has been sentenced to 35 months, in federal prison, after pleading guilty to charges of possessing a stolen handgun, TMZ reported. Lauryn Hill is facing yet another lawsuit stemming from her 2007 European tour. The company Via Davia Vintage has filed suit in L.A. County Superior Court alleging that Lauryn has failed to return many of the clothes they provided for her trek. Via Davia Vintage says they gave Lauryn “an entire wardrobe of high fashion items,” which she reportedly agreed to pay for over four weeks. Jay-Z will be giving his New Jersey Nets a proper homecoming. The rap icon announced at a press conference on Monday that he’ll be opening their new Brooklyn venue next fall by taking the stage. Jay also took a little swipe at his good friend LeBron James when he said he’s not quite sure just how many shows he’ll put on.
Jay-Z also revealed on Monday that the Nets’ new arena will be called the Barclays Center. The facility is still under construction, but is scheduled to open its doors next September. As part of their move, the New Jersey Nets will also be changing their name to the Brooklyn Nets.
