50 Cent Accused Of Stilling Music Without Permission

Fifty Cent is being accused of using another artist’s work without permission. Robert Poindexter of the band The Persuaders is suing the rap star for illegally using a sample of their song “Love Gonna Pack Up and Walk Out.” According to TMZ, 50 used the sample for a track called “Redrum,” which was part of a free album he released online a few years back. Poindexter’s lawsuit says 50 Cent admits to using the sample without permission, but believes he’s not guilty of any wrong doing because he wasn’t making money on the track. Poindexter is seeking unspecified statutory damages, and 600-thousand dollars in punitive damages.

Fifty Cent will be back in stores with new music this summer when he drops his fifth studio album. The currently-untitled project is due on July 2nd.
