Chris Brown and Rihanna may soon be performing together on one of television’s biggest shows. Sources tell E! News that “American Idol” producers are in talks with both artists about a joint performance. Fox has not yet approved of the performance, with insiders adding that the idea is still in the very early stages. Should Chris and Rihanna reunite on the “Idol” stage it would be their first public appearance together since Chris assaulted Rihanna in 2009. The former couple made headlines earlier this week when they released the songs “Birthday Cake” and “Turn Up the Music” together.

Earlier this month, Chris made his first appearance at the Grammys since his infamous night with Rihanna in 2009.
