The Queen of Soul is doing pretty well after she underwent  surgery on Thursday.  Aretha Franklin has been suffering from medical issues that her or her camp won’t make public. Last month the legendary singer decided to take a break from performing until atleast May. She underwent the procedure about 5 a.m. Thursday at a Detroit hospital.

Although the reason for the surgery is still a mystery, Aretha did offer her thanks through the following statement:

“The surgery was highly successful,” God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!”
