It could only be a matter of time before rumors started to fly that Beyonce’ has plagiarized someone else’s work for her newest album 4. Belgian dancer and choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaker, is accusing King Bey of stealing some of the choreography scenes for her latest video Countdown. After the video dropped a Danish blog found some of the scenes to look very similar to some of Anne Teresa De Keersmaker’s work and they took it upon themselves to make a side-by-side comparison of the scenes and to even contact De Keersmaker to find out her thoughts on the video.
De Keersmaker stated:
I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism. This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. Including the dresses and a remake of the school of [architect Henry] Van de Velde [which served as the set for the original recording of Rosas danst Rosas by director Thierry De Mey]. It’s a bit rude, I must say. (…) What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it’s a famous work. (…) Am I honoured? Look, I’ve seen local school kids doing this. That’s a lot more beautiful.

NO ONE is the orginator of anything anymore…creatively she saw something in the concept that she wanted to use…thats not stealing people..smh…keep hating on Bey and she gon keep cashing these checks…”Me and my boo in my boo coupe riding”…#STUNT
If I’m correct this isn’t twitter go stunt somewhere else…on another note this isn’t the first case of “king B” stealing from another artist im NOT surprised
Honestly this doesn’t surprise me. This is one of the few videos I really liked of Beyonce’s. I am not a huge fan of hers personally; but I think she’s a great entertainer. It was refreshing to see a video like this; even if bits were copied from someone else. At least give the original creators credit though.
Why is anyone surprised? It’s not the first time she has stolen from an artist’s body of work to suit her own lack of creativity.
@ Shante, that IS called “stealing”, and if this woman De Keersmaker wanted to take her to court she would have a great case so far, particularly because the original piece is so original.
I’m obviously not a fan, but I’m annoyed with American entertainers constantly copying and thinking it’s okay. Then again, the entire world copies from African-American music and dance, and the world NEVER pays homage, gives credit, or cites the originals. Therefore, who gives a damn De Keersmaker??
Bey needs to give credit where credit is due. It will only take one time for someone to sue her fake ass and drag her through court and media for her to do right. I am glad I dont like Bey. Yeah I am a hata. She is not original and she is boring. Every song sounds the same and it is all about putting the black man down and being over the man as a woman with woman power. Get over urself Beyonce. Go have your baby and come back in ten years. You will not be missed. Hell Mariah is more creative than Beyonce and Mariah gets on my nerves too.
#OhMyGosh pls stfu.. King Bey is the best entertainer of our generation.. and this Video is love.. Bey haters get over your self and find somebody else to hate.. bc clearly u have no sense for you to think she is boring…
It’s not the first time Bey has taken ideas though! She did it in the “who run the world” video..when she had the african dancers, remember. Its just a vision.

i am not sure it is stealing. in the dance world people get influenced by the moves, ideas and presentations.. If you start searching for similarities in the dance presentations and music videos, one can write a list of 1000′s of such cases.
unfortunately it is a common practice to sue a successful artist in hope to get some money..
Whatever! She liked the video so she borrowed a couple moves. Everybody does it.
