Beyonce is turning words into action for World Humanitarian Day. The pop star is teaming up with the United Nations on August 19th to help launch a global initiative encouraging good deeds. In doing so, she’ll also donate a video for her song “I Was Here” to the cause. Beyoncé is set to film the video in the United General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience. The clip will premiere on World Humanitarian Day on August 19th. Diane Warren, who wrote “I Was Here,” is also donating to the campaign.
Be says in a statement, quote, “We all see the headlines and think what I can really really do to help. World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.” More information about the campaign’s efforts can be found by visiting the website, www.whd-iwashere.org.
