The YMCMB camp has much to celebrate as Billboard recently announced Young Money’s President Lil’ Wayne as the to artist of the year.

Lil Wayne has topped every record imaginable and with his debut album Carter IV making close to a million sales in only its first week we can see why he was chosen for the honor.

Not only has Lil Wayne achieved high success from his own music but he also signed two of the other top artist of the year Nicki Minaj and Drake and Nicki comes in second on the Billboard charts for 2011.

After being in prison for almost a year in 2010 at Rikers Island, Wayne came back in 2011 with more fire than ever to come back and climb over everybody on the charts.

Not only has his last two albums (Carter III and Carter IV) became Platinum status in less than 2 weeks he also this year has achieved 4 top singles and between his guest features on many big records for 2011 as well as over 50 shows he has ranked in a whopping $46,300,000! Can you say bling bling?! Although Lil Wayne made the list as the top artist in the r&b/Hip Hop artist category he did not make the top spot for Top Rap Artist. The “female Weezy” Nicki Minaj took that spot topping her boss, Drake, Jay Z, and Kanye West. No other female artist has even been close to accomplishing that since Missy Elliott pulled it off back in 2000.

Congrats to the entire YMCMB roster and recently it has been named that Busta Rhymes would join the Cash Money team so there will be continous wins for the labels in 2012 as well. It’s Young Mula Baaabbbyyyy!!!!
