On Wednesday, June 25th, Black Celebrity Giving hosted the second annual “Giving Is Good” Awards hosted by Centric TV’s Ramona Debreaux. The event recognized local Atlanta Non-Profit Foundations that have gone above and beyond in actively making a difference in their communities and raised clothing for over 3,000 homeless youth. Special Guest/Honorees Included: Keshia Knight Pulliam, Tameka Foster Rashan Ali, and Egypt Sherrod.

They celebrated several local non-profits that gives back to the community. The event was full of networking, laughter, and tear shedding as we listened to Jasmine Crowe’s vision for Black Celebrity Giving and as we listened to each non profit share their goals.
The following foundations were honored:
- Emerging 100 Atlanta: To enhance the mentoring and tutoring programs of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc. with a focus at Best Academy High School and the Collegiate 100, while serving as role models to the entire community.
- Egypt Cares Family Foundation: Egypt Cares Family Foundation aims to provide resources and motivation that support families on their journey to financial literacy, health awareness, higher education and successful communication within the family unit.
- Forty Girls and Some Shoes: 40 Girls and Some Shoes goal is to literally aid women, children and men who are taking that all important first step into a new life by providing them with new and gently worn shoes.
- Kamp Kizzy: Kamp Kizzy Foundation seeks to work with young people between the ages of 11-16 from all socioeconomic backgrounds, races, religions and geographic locations. The Foundation is a holistic approach to self-esteem, empowerment and motivation daring young people to dream big, think big and accomplish big.
- Kile’s World: Kamp Kile’s World’s Summer Program give kids the opportunity to learn and thrive under Kile Glover’s favorite subjects that includes Comprehensive art education (drawing, illustration, painting, basic sketching), Intro to Dance, Theater, and Chorus.
- Kwanza Hall- Yo Boulevard: An ambitious agenda for turning the Boulevard corridor around includes crime prevention, job training, education reform, economic development and summer youth programs.
- Love Beyond Walls: Raise awareness of societal needs through technology, storytelling, and mobilize people to take part in it. To build one of the largest collaborative non-profit agencies in the world.
- Reginald Crossley- Fulton County Youth Commissioner: Address youth issues in the community by using leaders of the youth to work in policy making and community service, increase communication among local governmental leaders, community service providers, Fulton County peers, and other community stakeholders.
- Saving Our Daughters: Creates the tools to get teen girls discussing key issues and fired up to take the power away from bullying, (cyber, gossip, face-to-face), date abuse, hate crimes, school violence, violence against women, and other esteem slayers.
- Sporty Girls: Provide young minority girls the opportunity to participate in non traditional sports – those not traditionally offered in metro Atlanta public schools.
