They saying that rapper Nicki Minaj has been punched in the lip by some unknown male. The altercation went down in Dallas, TX at the Paloram Hotel. As of now, we don’t know who this man is but Nicki insisted that they WERE NOT dating and that she DID NOT want to press charges. Something about this is off if you ask me. Who get’s hit in the lip and then doesn’t want to press charges, and that’s not your boyfriend? The 6th Annual BET Hip Hop Awards & Soul Train Awards will return to Atlanta

Just so yall know BET Network loves Atlanta and the feeling is mutual.

The network is bringing its 6th annual BET Hip Hop Awards back this fall.  For the last four years the show has been taped at the Atlanta Civic Center and is scheduled to return the first Saturday of October 2011. This event has always sold out.   Although it’s taped in advance, the show runs very close to real time for attendees. The security during the event is incredibly tight; it seems to be just as many guards as attendees.

The Soul Train Awards, which airs on Centric and BET Networks, will also return this year. Produced in 2009, at the Georgia World Congress Center and in 2010 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. Read More »

Alicia Keys Gets Wax Portrait In New York

Alicia Keys is the latest celebrity to get waxed at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum of New York. Today was a big day for the pop star as it was also the 10th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album Songs in a Minor. Alicia decided to celebrate this momentous occasion along with the unveiling of her wax statue with her fellow New Yorkers.

The wax figure was dressed in the custom designed black leather jumpsuit and matching motorcycle jacket that Alicia wore in the New York oriented track “Empire State of Mind” which also featured Jay-Z. When Alicia saw the statue for the first time, she was ecstatic and said “I am so excited, it’s so crazy I can’t believe it!” We can believe it though as the singer has made her mark in the music industry for years and has definitely made an impact in her hometown of New York City.

BET Awards 2011: Fan Presenter Calls Wrong Name While Announcing Viewers’ Choice Award Winner

One fan’s dream may have turned into a nightmare Sunday night at the BET Awards. Tiffany Green a HUGE Nicki Minaj fan got the chance of a lifetime to present the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award, but when it came time to announce the winner, she somehow said the wrong name during the live telecast.

BET Awards 2011: Chris Brown Wins First Award of the Night Instead of announcing Rihanna featuring Drake the winner for their song “What’s My Name,” she at first said Chris Brown was the winner — and then had to correct her mistake.

When Drake took the stage, he noted how “awkward” the situation was. But later, BET tweeted that Chris Brown was in fact the actual winner — meaning the presenter had it right the first time. Tiffany took a lot of slack for it and got slammed on twitter by the crazy critics.

Willow & Jaden Tie For Youngsters Award

Jaden and Willow Smith hold their shiny awards up high at the 2011 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.

The siblings tied for the honor which recognizes young talent on the rise. Jaden and Willow were up against Keke Palmer, Diggy Simmons and Shenell Edmonds.

Willow, 11, just uploaded a new video from her tour with Justin Bieber earlier this year. She tweeted, “This was the last show, I was excited to go home, but sad to be leaving my crew. We had SO SO much fun on tour with Justin.”

Lil Kim Boycotts BET Awards & Takes Over Gay Pride Parade In NYC

Lil Kim expressed her feelings about the BET Awards on twitter. She tweeted she “Will not be at the EBT awards.” Rumors has been that her and rival Nicki Minaji will put their beef at the show. According to Kim, she will not be in attendance. Her beef comes from the fact that she didn’t get a nomintaion from BET, yet her rival, Nicki Minaj, is nominated for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist Award, along with Lola Monroe, Cymphonique, and Diamond.
