With artist like Usher, Chris Brown and Stevie Wonder on stage you know the show will be a hit. But the real big winner of the night were Adele, LMFAO and Lil Wayne who all swept the 2012 Billboard Music Awards with major wins Sunday night.
Leading the pack with a total of twelve awards, Adele picked up Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Pop Album, for “21,” and Top Alternative Song, for “Rolling in the Deep.”
She also earned Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album. Although he wasn’t there to accept, Lil Wayne earned four awards sweeping the rap categories with Top Rap Song, Top Rap Artist and Top Male Artist.
Beyonce, Chris Brown, and Kelly Rowland won like always the R&B categories winning Top R&B Album, Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Song respectively.

During a night packed with tributes, Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was visibly moved by the tribute to her late mother at 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
Bobbi Kristina took the stage at the ceremony to accept Billboard’s Millennium Award on her late mother’s behalf.
Before accepting the award, Bobbi Kristina was seen weeping in the audience, alongside her aunt Pat Houston, as Jordin Sparks performed Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Singer John Legend also participated in the Houston tribute segment, singing “The Greatest Love Of All.”Â Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards also included tributes to Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb, who died earlier in the day; to singer Donna Summer who died last Thursday; and to Beastie Boys rapper Adam “MCA” Yauch who passed away earlier this month.Â ABC aired the 2012 Billboard Music Awards live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mariah Carey took center stage Monday night during the broadcast of the 2012 BET Honors. The pop superstar received the Entertainer Award, which she said — like everything else in her career — wouldn’t be possible without the support of her followers.
Famed filmmaker Spike Lee was also on hand to receive the Media Award, while music icon Stevie Wonder was celebrated with the Musical Arts Award. Other honorees during Monday’s broadcast included the Tuskegee Airmen, who received the Service Award; Dr. Maya Angelou, who earned the Literary Arts Award; and Beverly Kearney, who received theÂ Education Award. Monday night’s telecast also featured several performances. Along with being an honoree, Stevie Wonder also took the stage, as did Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, Common and Jill Scott.
The 2012 BET Honors was hosted by actress Gabrielle Union. The ceremony was taped on January 14th at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC.
The cast of the Civil Rights-era drama “The Help” is taking top honors at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The film won three awards at the star-studded ceremony on Sunday night, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Lead Actress for Viola Davis who thanked her idol and “Help” co-star in her acceptance speech.
Â Davis also thanked Meryl Streep with whom she co-starred in the movie “Doubt” and was nominated alongside other actresses at Sunday night’s SAG Awards. Davis’ “Help” co-star Octavia Spencer also continued her winning streak in the Supporting Actress role, dedicating her award to the “underserved” and “over taxed.” Other winners included French actor Jean Dujardin for his role in the black-and-white, silent film “The Artist,” veteran actor Christopher Plummer for “Beginners,” Alec Baldwin for “30 Rock” and Betty White for “Hot In Cleveland.”
