NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” are heading out on tour. They’re among the 12 “Housewives” Bravo has announced to participate in its “The Real Housewives Live Tour.” The three-city outing will begin October 1st in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Network executives say the tour will allow fans a “unique, hands-on experience with their favorite cast members across franchises that they can’t experience anywhere else.” Other cities on the tour’s itinerary will include Phaedra’s stop in Hammond, Indiana on October 8th and an October 15th date in Atlanta where NeNe will be holding court on home turf. With an onslaught of rain hitting NYC Saturday night, Beyoncé stans were still not deterred from attending her sold out performance at the Roseland Ballroom on 52nd and 8th. While the concert was sold out, the internet is buzzing with photos and video clips from the event. She performed all of the songs from 4 and a few of her hits from previous albums (Single Ladies & Irreplaceable) and rocked a dress created by her mother, Tina Knowles.

Mayor Kasim Reed opened up the 2011 school year with a celebrity-studded pep rally at Jean Childs Young Middle School in southwest Atlanta. Sending out the call that morning, rapper Diamond, actress Terri J. Vaughn and R&B newcomers K. Michelle and Tiffani Tyree, as well as Jazzy McBee from Hot 107.9,  came running to support the great cause.

The Mason Murer Fine Arts Gallery was the stage for Sister 2 Sister magazine’s Ladies Night. The party, thrown by Chicago-born magazine publisher and socialite, Jamie Foster Brown, including a number of celebrities, vendors and lots of black female professionals.

A number of popular female celebrities and influential women came to the event, Meeka Claxton of Basketball Wives, Ne-Yo’s fiance, Monyetta Shaw, and Michael Vick’s fiance, Kijafa Frink.

Toya Wright of Toya: A Family Affair promoted her new book, “Priceless Inspirations,” which recently made number 1 on the NY Times Best Seller list.

Rapper Diamond made an appearance, posing here with Trina and Towanda Braxton of Braxton Family Values.

R&B newcomer T’melle performed at the end of the night. D. Woods of Danity Kane was also present and R&B crooner Bobby V made a surprise cameo.

Vendors sold everything from high end designer clothes and shoes, to black hair products to wheat grass pills to free massages. The majority of the vendors were black female entrepenuers and offered high quality goods and services; Lamik’s provided the free makeovers and Ultimate Vodka provided the drinks.

My girl Lisa Wu Hartwell was scheduled to make an appearance, but told me she was having plane trouble out in LA. But Kandi Buruss, former Xscape group member and co-star of Housewives of Atlanta, made an appearance in the final hour. Check out the pics and drop a few comments:


The Young Money Crew celebrated Mack Maine’s birthday at King of Diamonds strip club in Miami. Lil Wayne, Bow Wow, Byrdman, Gudda Gudda, Ceelow, Josh, BP and Marlow G showed up for the party. The crew dropped about $50,000 in 3 hours at the club and then bounced.

Must be nice! I’m saying though, that recession is hitting FreddyO hard! Drop a dub or two over here! Happy Birthday Mack Maine!

5 months after F.A.M.E. dropped, Chris Brown has decided to give the American people what we’ve been waiting for: a tour. Breezy will kick off the 28-city tour in Toronto on September 28 with the help of Kelly Rowland, Tyga and T-Pain. Nicki Minaj has made history. Her certified double platinum song Super Bass has made Nicki the first solo female rap artist since 2002 to have their song climb the Billboard  Hot 100’s top 10. Even more interestingly, Super Bass is the 8th single by a solo female rapper to climb the top 10 in the history of the Hot 100. This sheds lights on the female rap game as a whole. READ MORE

Chris Brown Says No To Jackson Tribute

The Jackson family has recently announced their plan for a huge Michael Jackson Tribute (see here) in Wales and the hopes that a number of A-list performers will participate. But our boy Chris Breezy said no to the Jacksons…How do you say no to the Jacksons!? Reportedly, the family has reached out to Jay-Z, Cee Lo Green, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Bruno Mars, Usher and Christina Aguilera with the request that they’d  perform one or two of their favorite songs by the late pop icon.
