Let me just start by saying that the 4 minutes of spotlight that Jesse Williams was allotted had the potential to change someone’s life. While he was speaking last night I was speechless as I’m sure many others were. The truth was reiterated time and time again in Jesse’s speech at the BET Awards when he was presented with the Humanitarian Award.
Jesse started his speech off strong and humble, saying that the award was not just for him but the struggling people all over the world. He gave special and much needed recognition to the African-American women and mothers of the world because he realizes that they are rarely appreciated daily for everything they go through. Beyond this he goes into talking about the racial dynamics of this country and the breakdown of where it all starts.
Yes, African-Americans were oppressed (and still are) and our ancestors fought to get us out of oppression so why do we continue to do the dirty work for them by oppressing ourselves? His speech was honestly a s for everyone to wake up because it i so much bigger than making money and throwing a couple of name brands on your body.
Look at the bigger picture!
I strongly urge everyone to take 4 valuable minutes of your life and analyze each bullet that Jesse hits in his speech, it is amazing.
Btw, Jesse graduated from Temple University which is my school! Great minds really do think alike, that gives me so much hope for the future!

Who enjoyed this year’s BET awards? As I mentioned yesterday, many people were shocked at the fact that Beyoncé’s dancers had made an appearance and they wondered if that meant Yoncé was in the building. Well, again to everyone’s surprise she was and she performed a powerful song from her album, Lemonade. Can anyone guess which one it was?
“Freedom, Freedom, I can’t move. Freedom cut me loose.” Yes, Beyonce along with the talented genius Kendrick Lamar performed “Freedom” last night. Not only was it an amazing performance because of who they are but also because of the severe messages that pierced through each word, each note, and each movement.
When you are educated you start to see the world in an entirely new perspective and every little thing carries a lot of weight. With that said, the underlying messages in their performances literally brought me to tears.
If you gave up on BET before I now encourage you to go check out this latest show because that was not the only profound moment of that night!
Positivity, peace and love is what it is all about.

Tupac Shakur, would have been 45 years old today. The love and respect on his name is impeccable this morning. Tupac’s legacy, words, and mentality have changed the game in the music industry and we miss him so much!
Tupac influenced and inspired an entire generation to change for the better and to encourage people to be better human beings, steering away from the parts of society where there is no hope. The times where music no matter the genre, told a story and spoke on the real ongoing issues affecting society was definitely Tupac’s time. What is your favorite Pac song?
I know without hesitation my two favorite are: “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Dear Mama”. These songs really hit home because it addresses the issues no one speaks on and/or pretend to care about for a moment to satisfy the media. In these songs, Tupac brings attention to the way we treat our women. We always have campaigns for “saving our sons” (which I have nothing against) , but remember we wouldn’t have sons if we didn’t have women.
Women need to be appreciated for bringing you into this world and also for going through things the male species could never. The respect starts with ourselves but it doesn’t help for the men to be so against supporting women, and especially in the African-American community. This is what Tupac was trying to get across because it is key to progression as a nation.
Happy Birthday Tupac!
Thank you for dropping your seeds, we will not let them go in vain because we know what your goal was and it will be honored and executed!
All true artists take note, if you haven’t already.

“All talk and no action” has become quite the norm! Have you ever encountered people with BIG dreams but realize that they lack the necessary skills to make those dreams a reality? Or better yet, have you met that person that expects you to make their dreams a reality or may even expect you to finance their ideas? It can be very frustrating to know these types of people. Here’s what you can tell them:

The Wait Is Over!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your prayers answered all of the time? What about everything you desire be granted to you. You see I believe some people view our relationship with God like a trip to the grocery store, always waiting in line one by one waiting for the cashier to ring up our goods .Well that’s not the case when it comes to Gods way of meeting our needs, that’s actually the complete opposite of how God planned for our relationship with him is suppose to be. Nor is it his way of meeting our needs.
Let me start off by telling you right now that Gods plan is way better than our plan. I believe he is saying to us today that “the wait is over”. He wants us to stop standing around waiting on him or anybody else to for fill our needs and destiny, especially when he’s already provided everything we need. There is a particular scripture that comes to mind “God has given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness”. You see “given us” means you already have what he has to offer and already have it means that your in possession of what he had to give you. Having possession of it means you have ownership of what he gave you. So what are we waiting for? The wait is over. Our job is to first discover what he already gave us, second receive what he already gave us, then lastly but not least walk in what he already gave us.
Our ability to get things done yes comes from God alone but our actions to make it happen is our part. God provides the faith we provide the actions. Never under estimate your actions because it is the require to manifesting what you need and desire. You tell me what will happen in our lives if everyday there was a need and you conditioned your mind to truth of these principles, how would it change your life around, how would it change the position your in. I challenge you to start looking at the hard times in your life knowing that you have already have the answer that you need to do what it takes to change that situation around now!
I’m telling you that once your mind is conditioned to thinking this way your posture will change, your position will change and your expectation of how things are suppose to be will afford you the results you’ve been always wanting. You will begin to live a more exhilarating life and you will begin to rejoice, jumping up and down knowing that everything is going to work out for your good according to his purpose and plan for your life. You will start living in a place of victory with an out stretched neck and arm spinning around always in expectation of his will being done because you know the answer and your not lack concerning his promise and plans for you because you already know how it’s going to turn out no matter how it looks!
The wait is over! Let’s go get what he already promised us, it’s our move. “All the promises of God are yes and amen”!
