Terri Woods New York Times bestselling novel “True to the Game” is hitting the big screen with iconic stars Vivica Fox and Columbus Short bringing the story to life with the help of music mogul Manny Halley. The story is an urban tale about love and making it big in New York City. Summer 2017 is all about the big movies and “True to the Game” is going to be one of the big films of this season.

True to the Game represents life on the streets, where it’s true that there’s no way out once you’re in, and everyone stays in forever. It’s the late 1980s, and Gena played by newcomer Erica Peeples finds herself in true-blue love with Quadir played by Columbus Short, a millionaire associated with the cartel. Quadir is faced with combating the art of extortion and interception masterminded by the notorious Junior Mafia, which reigns from the inner-city streets of Philadelphia. Both Gena and Quadir find themselves caught up in the vicious yet seductive world of drugs and money, only to find that success in this game is no easy win. True to the Game represents life on the streets and is like no other story of its time. The ensemble includes Vivica A. Fox as Shoog and Draya Michele as Cherelle.

This Film is directed by Preston Whitmore from (This Christmas) and costars includes Andra Fuller, Starletta Dupios, Nelsan Ellis, and Jennifer Freeman.

The screenplay was written by Nia Hill (“Colored My Mind: The Diagnosis”)

Marvel Comic’s ‘Black Panther’ movie trailer revealed a story line that has some African roots.  The all star cast that includes lead actor Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker just to name a few.

 In Black Panther, T’Challa returns home as king of Wakanda, a never before seen African nation, but finds his sovereignty challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences.

Illumination, who brought audiences Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, continues the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions in Despicable Me 3.  Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, the animated film is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud.

Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon.  Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.  The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2017www.despicable.me

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing the #AllEyezOnMe Atlanta press conference with cast members Demetrius Shipp Jr, Kat Graham, Creator & Producer L.T. Hutton.  The event was held at DJ Drama’s Mean Street where media got a chance to have an intimate chat with the cast. So happy that this movie is finally hitting the big screen. “Coming To America” Sequel In The Works

The rumors appear to be true. It looks like a sequel for ‘Coming to America’ is underway. Last month, reports began to surface that Eddie Murphy was working on a sequel to his hit 1988 comedy. A tweet was sent out from his account, however, his camp later stated that he was hacked and was unaware that he even had an account.
