As the Producer & Director of Point & Drive, Brandi Mitchell is taking her highly anticipated documentary to screens across the nation. The film presents the passion, talents, history, struggles and triumphs of the most imitated marching band of all time, The Florida A&M University Marching 100. Shot over a three-year time period, the documentary is comprised of unprecedented original interviews, music, live performances, dancing and rare archival footage and images of the process of mastering the renowned Point and Drive technique. Audiences are able to listen to personal accounts from successful alumni such as Grammy Winning Jazz legends like Scotty Barnhart, Wycliffe Gordon and Vincent Gardner, and popular artists like Dwele.

This Weekend’s Box Office Hit!

“Finding Dory,” which comes 13 years after its predecessor, racked in a whopping $136.2 million in North American theaters. According to comScore, it has knocked “Shrek the Third” out of its spot, becoming the highest-grossing animated debut of all time. “Shrek the Third” (2007) debuted with $121.6 million. The Pixar sequel also broke records for the studio’s biggest opening. “Toy Story 3″ was the previous record-holder, with a $110.3 million open.

I had the opportunity to check out the first episode of ROOTS the new miniseries presented by the History Channel. I grew up watching the miniseries and did not know if we needed another slave story. But after seeing the first episode and listening to Director Will Packer speak about his motivation to recreate this epic series; I am ecstatic to share this historical moment with you all.
