Brie Larson will join Michael B. Jordan in “Just Mercy,” a true story based on the New York Times best-selling memoir by Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, which fights on behalf of the wrongly condemned and death-row prisoners trapped in the criminal justice system.
Lorene Scafaria is directing the film, which is inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler entitled, “The Hustlers at Scores.” The piece details a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. Marvel Comic’s ‘Black Panther’ movie trailer revealed a story line that has some African roots. The all star cast that includes lead actor Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker just to name a few.
