Drake to Executive Produce NEW Aaliyah Album & Samples Her On New Single

According to HipHopDX, Drake has been selected by Aaliyah’s estate to executive produce the late singer’s next album. It’s also reported that Drake will sample the deceased singer on his new single, and will premiere the record this weekend at Toronto’s OVO Fest.

Last spring while overseas, Drake hinted to Tim Westwood that he had some special plans related to the late singer in the works. “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon,” he said. “Just some special things. Mike Epps Says ‘Last Friday’ Movie Rumors Are Fake, ‘We not doing sh*t!’

Last weekend, a new poster hit the net which had everyone all excited about a possible “Last Friday” movie in the works.

Although the Fake poster looked real, we told that you that it was indeed fake. Mike Epps also took to twitter to confirm the poster was fake but not only that mike claims anything dealing with him and the movie was a lie…

 

Ice Cube has been doing a lot of different interviews telling the public that he would be putting his 1995 “Friday” movie series to rest with a final film.

 

Rumors first started after TMZ  did a interview with Debo, who said  the entire cast would be back, including past cast members.

Jennifer Hudson Joins Jordin Sparks in new movie role

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson will join actors Jeffrey Wright and Anthony Mackie and singer-turned-actress Jordin Sparks in the forthcoming motion picture drama, “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister And Pete.”

According to Deadline.com, the film, which is directed by George Tillman Jr. and produced by Alicia Keys, will tell the story of two inner-city kids who are forced to care for themselves after their mothers are taken away by authorities.

Hudson’s involvement in the film comes just weeks after the former “American Idol” finalist announced her role as a Broadway star in the upcoming season of the television musical drama series “Smash.”

“It’s just the perfect opportunity,” she said during a interview with the Associated Press. “It’s gonna be challenging, and I’m a little bit intimidated to play this big Broadway star, but it’s gonna be a great experience. I can’t wait to get started.”

Spike Lee Producing Michael Jackson Documentary

Filmmaker Spike Lee is putting the finishing touches on a documentary about Michael Jackson. The film, which focuses on the late singer’s 1987 album “Bad” and its accompanying world tour, features Lee’s interviews with members of Jackson’s collaborators and tour team as well as interviews with contemporary stars like rapper Kanye West and Sheryl Crow, who was a backup singer on Jackson’s “Bad” tour.

 

Lee says in a statement he’s “a huge fan of Michael Jackson’s” and cares deeply about his legacy.

 

He adds that the project allowed him to uncover “just what made this a huge, important coming of age” in Jackson’s career.

There’s been no announcement of an official release date for Lee’s documentary but it is expected to be released around the same time as the September 18th release of the box set “Bad 25″ which will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s “Bad” album. Lee previously directed the clip for Jackson’s posthumous song “This Is It,” released months after the singer’s death in 2009.

‘Think Like A Man’ Sequel On The Way

“Think Like a Man,” the film that was based on the #1 New York Times Best Seller written by Steve Harvey, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” will be getting a sequel.

EgyptSaidSo reports due to the shocking success of the “urban” romance comedy “Think Like A Man”, Sony Screen Gems has begun pre-production on a sequel for the film. Think Like A Man is the adaptation of Steve Harvey’s relationship advice book.

In terms of the cast, at this point it’s not clear who will be returning. The original Think Like a Man starred Michael Ealy, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union and Romany Malco.

Ultimately the film became a sleeper hit, boasting a box office tally of $92.7 million worldwide with just a $12 million production budget. This put the film in the running for being one of this year’s most profitable comedies.

Despite the rush to green light the Think Like a Man sequel, a firm release date has yet to be announced.
