Who knew that a harmless bowl of cereal could create such drama?
The latest television ad for Cheerios that features an interracial couple with their daughter has caused so much unnecessary dialogue over race, that General Mills has decided to temporarily disable commentary for the ad on YouTube. In the commercial, the young girl asks her mother if the cereal is good for your heart. After her mother tells her yes, she takes the box into the living room and dumps the cereal on her Black father’s chest, right over the heart, as he is napping. He wakes up covered in the fun shaped O’s a bit confused. You can’t help but to smile at the little girl’s attempt to keep her daddy heart healthy.
Apparently some folks weren’t smiling. The commentary for the ad alluded to all sorts of negativity to the family, even going as far as labeling the father a deadbeat who would only leave the family at his first opportunity. The associate marketing director for Cheerios Meredith Tutterow stated that the ad will “absolutely not” be withdrawn, and General Mills has no plans to remove the commercial from television. Socialite Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West are in a league of their own when it comes to baby shower invitations. The celebrity couple recently sent out fabulous baby shower invitations that didn’t require an envelope and a stamp. The baby shower invitations actually came in the form of a music box that included a spinning ballerina (who looks very similar to Kim Kardashian), and played a lullaby version of Kanye West’s “Hey Mama“.

The opening of the Billboard Music Awards included Tracy Morgan and his birth father – Wayne Newton. The joke was used to introduce him as the host for the Billboard Music Awards last night. Wayne Newton was there and he was in on the joke too! LOL, the big homie Tracy Morgan is HILLARIOUS!
Tracy Morgan introduced his “birth daddy” to the audience that got a round of laughs from the audience and the world watching the Billboard Awards. Wayne Newton looked a little like Billy Crystal just a little puffier and sporting a few more wrinkles. Tracy even had jokes for Las Vegas,
“even vampires get tired at Vegas.”
At one point during the award show, Tracy rocked a sequined jacket, saying it was a tribute to Michael Jackson. He made jokes about the New York City public school was so tough, that they didn’t get recess, but were “released on their own recognizance.”
