GossipOnThis is reporting R&B singer Monica performed a 45-minute set over the weekend (Fri. Jul 2) at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans as she opened the main stage the 2010 Essence Music Festival. Mo’s set included her old hits from the 90’s and early 2000’s and she also performed her new songs including her latest album’s title track “Still Standing,†“Everything to Me†and her latest single “Love All Over Me†as well as the fan favorite “Here I Am.â€

In other news singer/songwriter Keri Hilson shared the stage with El DeBarge Friday night (Jul 2) in New Orleans, Louisiana at the 2010 Essence Music Festival. She performed her own hits and songs she’s featured on and surprised the crowd when she welcomed El DeBarge to the stage to perform “I Like It†with her.

This years BET awards show was stellar, and an entirely different show from last years debacle. Yeah, everyone was shocked by the surprise guests, and Chris Breezy’s tribute to Michael Jackson. But no one saw Nicki Minaj like I saw her…I got to tell y’all I love me some Nicki Minaj. People are always calling her a Diva but after having a chance to be around her that is far from the truth, although she did change outfits and wigs 4 times. Not only did she go out of her way to take pictures with everyone and their mama she even looked out for me when security tried to put their hands on me(y’all know how they get)… Love ya Nicki and SB thanks for all the love. Keyshia Cole made her first public appearance after a year, and some Mommy time out for her new baby boy, and soon to be loving husband. Do not get it twisted, although she is a mommy, she is still bringing it and still got it. She was looking so fabulous, and really made B.O.B.’s set one to remember…although Eminem kind of stole the show. I wanted to tell you all she was coming, but they would have been pissed at me. For all you Keyshia Cole fans, her new album should be dropping some time this winter.
I have to tell ya’ll my girl Monica ripped the stage at the 2010 BET Awards singing her hit single, “Everything To Me.” She brought out a Legendary singer Denice Williams who originally wrote the song “Silly of Me.”  This was the first time Denice had performed in front of a live audience in over 15 years.
