The six-week-old marriage between football player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and reality TV star Evelyn Lozada is heading to divorce court. TMZ.com says Lozada has filed papers in Florida to end the union, just days after Johnson was arrested for domestic violence. Johnson is accused of head-butting Lozada during an argument, which reportedly started after she found a receipt for a box of condoms in Johnson’s car. Lozada claims the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” The two reportedly had a prenup.
The Miami Dolphins and VH1 have also broken up with Johnson. Just one day after his arrest on Saturday, the NFL team released a statement saying it had terminated its contract with the wide receiver. And on Monday, VH1 said it had shelved its planned reality series “Ev & Ocho,” which chronicled the lead up to the former couple’s July 4th wedding.
