The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter is proud to present the 23rd Annual Gourmet Gents event on Sunday, November 17, 2013 @ 3:00pm, Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Concourse Parkway, College Park, GA . The Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter launched “Gourmet Gents” in 1989 as the organization’s first fundraiser – Atlanta’s premier tasting festival that featured more than 100 Atlanta gentlemen cooking their best culinary dishes and recipes for sampling. On Sunday, November 17, 2013, nearly 300 Gents will grace the “Court of the Culinary Titans” by showcasing their culinary skills, cooking their favorite dishes and recipes, in a high-spirited cook-off challenge.
Chef G. Garvin, cookbook author and television host will serve as Celebrity chef. WXIA/ “11 Alive” News Anchor, Brenda Wood and MAJIC 107.5 Siman Baby will serve host and hostess of the charity of the event. Some of our favorite Radio One personalities will be cooking this includes Derek Harper, Chubb Rock, Art Terrell, Tall Boy, Bistro, Magic, Lakeem Dwight, and DJ Frost will be on the one’s and twos. Highlights of this year’s Gourmet Gents event include: local and national celebrities, vendor marketplace, chic fashion show, entertainment and of course delicious food.
When the doors of the Georgia International Convention Center open on November 17, 2013 at 3:00 pm, the Culinary Titans will engage in a cook-off challenge of colossal magnitude, while thousands of patrons feast on mouth-watering sampling of appetizers, side dishes, entrees and desserts.
Proceeds from Gourmet Gents will benefit the Chapter’s “Teens on the Move” mentoring program, which has mentored 35 brilliant high school girls (Class of 2014) from Booker T. Washington and Henry W. Grady High Schools. Since 1995, the Chapter has awarded more than $750,000 in scholarships to more than 450 young women, through this program.
