It must be the week of comedians coming for people! Look, we get it is your job, but we draw the line when it comes to America’s favorite TV dad, Bill Cosby! Apparently, Hannibal Buress did NOT get that memo! See what he said to get social media buzzin’!
Check out the details below!
I think it is safe to say that comic Hannibal Buress is NOT–repeat NOT–a fan of trailblazing comic and actor Bill Cosby. He shared his dislike for some of Cosby’s recent tongue-lashings about today’s youth in a stand-up routine, calling him nothing short of a hypocrite as he referenced 13 sexual assault allegations from Cosby’s past.
“He gets on TV [saying], ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the ’80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches,” Hayes said during his routine. There were apparently a number of other references to Cosby allegedly being a ‘rapist’ and Hayes’ obvious dislike for the storied actor throughout a part the performance.
The bit has clearly ruffled feathers across the board and the later fall out has pretty much caught Buress by surprise. He referenced the backlash with a relatively vague tweet: “Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean that really got out of hand really fast.” I don’t know why he wouldn’t expect THAT to happen!
Hayes said in an interview with shock jock Howard Stern Tuesday, “It’s a weird thing, somebody filmed my show in Philly. I’ve done that bit off and on for six months talking about the Cosby situation.” That’s all it takes these days is just ONE video to go viral and suddenly EVERYBODY knows the deal. We’ll see how all of this plays out and see if Cosby will respond to these comments.
Check out Buress’ comments in the video and voice your opinions in the comments. Do you think it was right for Buress to speak about Cosby in such a way? Note: There is explicit language in the clip so govern yourselves accordingly!
