Diddy Launching Cable Music Channel : “Empress” perfume

It looks like Sean “Diddy” Combs has another big business venture in the works. “Broadcasting & Cable” is citing sources who say the rap mogul is preparing to launch a music-themed cable network called Revolt. The network is reportedly planning to debut on December 12th, and is being described as a music and music news channel with an urban vibe. Comcast is said to be in charge of distributing Revolt, although a rep for Comcast would not comment on the network.

This could also be a big year for Diddy’s music label, Bad Boy Records. He recently signed up and coming rappers French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly and is making plans to release the debut album from Brooklyn emcee Red Cafe.

I other news Empress Hair Care is claiming Combs stole the name “Empress” perfume for women, knowing full well he had no right to use the name, according to documents filed in a U.S. District Court in New York on Jan. 10.

In February 2010, Combs had reached out to the Texas-based company, asking if a deal could be worked out where he could use the Empress name.

The hair-care company declined to do business with him for fear it would lead to market confusion.
