He said he was gone do it and he did … Sean “Diddy” Combs is now an Academy Award winner. The hip-hop mogul’s documentary “Undefeated” won the Oscar on Sunday night for Documentary Feature. “Undefeated” beat out fellow nominees “Pina,” “Paradise Lost Three: Purgatory,” “If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front,” and “Hell and Back Again.” Following “Undefeated’s” victory, Diddy sent out an R-rated tweet to express his surprise. He also tweeted that “God is the greatest.”
Diddy is the executive producer behind “Undefeated.” The film looks at the struggles of a high school football program in North Memphis, Tennessee. The rap star recently told ETOnline.com that he too once dreamed of being a football player, which is why “Undefeated” “moved” him in such a personal way. The Oscars also honored Octavia Spencer of “The Help.” Spencer won the Best Supporting Actress award, extending a long winning streak for the role. The black-and-white silent film “The Artist” was named Best Picture. Its star Jean Dujardin won Best Actor and Meryl Streep received the Best Actress Oscar for “The Iron Lady.”
