Pending league approval, Doc Rivers will be the new Los Angeles Clippers coach.
The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to trade the Boston Celtics a 2015 first-round draft pic as compensation for Doc Rivers, head coach. The Clippers will sign Rivers to a three-year, $21 million dollar contract. This move has caused hopes and speculations that Chris Paul, a free agent as of July 1st, will sign a maximum five-year contract with the Clippers.
Doc Rivers is no stranger to the court, as he spent most of his pro days as an Atlanta Hawk in the 80’s. He went on to play for the Clippers, Knicks, and Spurs before retiring in 1996.
Good luck to Doc and the Clippers.
