Drake Raps About Toronto’s Shootings In Snoop’s “No Guns Allowed”

Drake is joining the cause for tougher gun restrictions. Collaborating with Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) on his latest track “No Guns Allowed” the Young Money rapper dedicates a verse to two people killed in Toronto’s worst mass shooting.

Last summer the Danzig Street shooting left two dead and 23 others injured. The “two more young names” Drake raps about are 14-year old Shyanne Charles and 23-year old Joshua Yasay, who were killed when gunshots erupted at a party outside of a public housing complex. The shooting was apparently gang related and members of the gang “The Galloway Boys” were later arrested for the crime. This is not the first time Drake has spoken out about the Danzig shooting. After the incident the rapper took to Twitter to send his condolences to the victims. He also called for the “senseless violence” in Toronto to come to an end.

“No Guns Allowed” is featured on Snoop’s upcoming reggae album “Reincarnated” which will hit stores on April 23rd.

I’m so glad some rappers have the intergrity to stand up against stronger gun laws…. we as society have a moral obligation to correct and give back to society as a whole… especially for celebrity who have a broader platform its their duty to address such issues so that indivduals would listen because they have that type of authority… Good job drake and snoop…
