Drake To Collaborate With Stevie Wonder On New Album ‘Take Care’

This is something I definitely didn’t see coming. Toronto native Drake is taking his upcoming album Take Care to a whole different level. According to Drake, he’s been in the studio working on R&B music with the legendary Stevie Wonder. Who would have ever thought that Stevie Wonder would serve as musical mentor to Drake? Stevie Wonder will be featured on a song called Doing It Wrong. Drake had this to say about the experience,

“With Stevie it was a musical thing. I had a song that’s very powerful, it’s called “Doing It Wrong” and Stevie boosted it to another level. … It’s a great piece of music. He brought life to it. I was only trying to use extremely strong R&B songs on this album if I’m going to use R&B at all. Before I’d have scattered interludes and songs where I’m experimenting with things. Here, I wanted to get back to “Brand New,” “Bria’s Interlude” days. … I’m going to do the type of R&B I’m good at. With Stevie it’s hard for me to explain. It’s an incredible thing I witnessed that night. He heard a song that he saw some potential in and he added some key pieces that made it come to life.”

Drake is definitely stepping out of the box with this new album and if he keeps this kind of work up, I’m sure he can tap into an even bigger fan base. What do you think of Drake and Stevie Wonder collaborating together? Do this new make you anxious to hear the album?
