On the opening night of the Summer Sixteen Tour, Drake took another shot at Toronto singer, Tory Lanez and fellow Young Money labelmate, Tyga. He was on the second verse of Summer Sixteen when he changed the lyrics to, “All you boys doing fake ‘Controlla’ wanna be me a little.” Burn!
The beef between Drake and Tory Lanez began some time last year when Tory tweeted that it wasn’t cool for people to call Toronto “The 6.” Earlier this year, he also took jabs at Drake in a freestyle on Sway in the Morning where he raps, “I know these n***** about to act scary. T.O. n****, only spitting without the blackberry,” referencing the time Drake rapped off his blackberry on Hot 97.
Tyga went after Drake in a series of interviews in the past, even calling the rapper “fake” and saying he didn’t like Drake as a person. Drake fired back on the track ‘6PM in New York,’ saying: “I heard the lil’ lil’ homie talkin’ reckless in Vibe/ That’s quite the platform you chose, you should’ve kept it inside/ Oh, you tried/ It’s so childish callin’ my name on the world stage/ You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.” Let me just add that Tyga’s remix of Controlla, ‘1 of 1’, was a joke. I think Drake should let Tyga off the hook for that one, he’s suffered enough.
Whose side are you on? 6 God, Drake or Tory Lanez and Tyga’s? Drop a comment to let us know.
