Eminem will be dropping new music this summer. On Wednesday, the Detroit native announced that he will be releasing his next album, “Recovery,” on June 22nd. Em released a statement on his website that reads, quote, “I had originally planned for ‘Relapse Two’ to come out last year. But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to ‘Relapse’ started to make less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album.” He adds, quote, “The music on ‘Recovery’ came out very different from ‘Relapse,’ and I think it deserves its own title.” “Recovery” will feature production from the likes of DJ Khalil, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin and Boi-1da.

Just Blaze recently discussed Eminem’s upcoming album with MTV News saying, quote, “He’s really back spitting. The wordplay is crazy, the metaphors are crazy. He’s really back on his game.” Eminem’s last release, “Relapse,” was arguably the biggest hip-hop album of 2009. The record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 after selling 608-thousand copies in its first week. The album also earned Eminem the Grammy for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
