Taraji P. Henson, star of Fox‘s runaway hit music industry drama “Empire,” recently joined the long list of celebrities who support LGBT rights and equality.
Taraji P. Henson and Jussie Smollett, stars of Fox’s music industry drama “Empire” have joined thousands in the #NOH8 Campaign to fight for equality rights. According to their website, the NOH8 Campaign “is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.”
Numerous celebrities, LGBT community members, and every day supporters of the campaign have had their photographs taken by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska featuring duct tape over their mouths and the NOH8 logo adorned on their cheek in support of this ongoing issue. Since Henson (Cookie) plays the mother of a homosexual African-American man (Smollett as ‘Jamal’) in the music industry on “Empire,” it seems very fitting for the two of them to add their faces and support to the campaign. Smollett’s #NOH8 picture was recently shared on the campaign’s Twitter page along with Henson’s:
