Atlanta, GA (August 21, 2014) – Atlanta Black Gay Pride, the countries leading LGBTQ annual pride celebration, is gearing up for their annual celebration during the 2014 Labor Day holiday weekend.

Atlanta Black Gay Pride, the countries leading LGBTQ annual pride celebration is slated to begin on Thursday, Aug. 28th – Monday, September 1st will feature special guest performances from Faith Evans, Tamar Braxton and Sevyn Streeter. The Georgian Terrace and Loews Hotel in Downtown Atlanta are the official host hotels for pride weekend.
The 5-day long holiday weekend will also feature the 3rd annual Pure Heat Festival, which takes place on Sunday, August 31st the historic Piedmont Park. This year the festival will honor Grammy Award Winning songstress, Faith Evans. Faith Evans will receive the 2014 Humanitarian Award and perform live on the main-stage.
The cultural event will highlight market and food vendors, live performances, entertainment, educational forums, prizes & giveaways, all of which brings together the spirit of community, pride and vision. The Pure Heat Festival also offers an opportunity to bring awareness to a community impacted by HIV/AIDS, and which advocate campaigns towards human rights, education, Health & Wellness, and Homelessness that greatly impacts the LGBTQ community at large. The Pure Heat Community Festival is a front seat into a spectacular gathering of minority LGBTQ people and their allies in the heart of Atlanta.
Atlanta, Georgia has the largest and most diverse African-American Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (LGBT) populations in the United States. The 16-year old Black Pride celebration has been ranked as the most attended Black pride event in the country and generates more than $1 million in revenue for metro Atlanta.
