I guess drama between the Real Atlanta Housewives is off air too. It was reported that NeNe Leakes & Hubby were left stranded at the airport after she threw a fit. I spoke to the homie Nene who is furious about an event that she was supposed to attend (for free) but the details were a lil sketchy. Nene was invited to a charity event in Boca Raton, Florida by Leslie Harris  for  “Women On the Move” to raise funds for breast cancer research. Nene was told about the event three days ago and dropped everything she was doing to accomodate the event.

She told me that she was hurt by all of the actions that took place because she feels as though the promoter was all about the press but she thought it should be about the charity and raising funds.

After having few details confirmed about the event (which she was just told about 3 days ago) Nene called Lisa(who was also apart of the event) and told her she didn’t want to do press (TV station talk shows, and Radio station) and just wanted to go to the event. Nene said the lady over the event Leslie Harris, got upset and then disrespected her over the phone… Mind you Nene was in the airport about to get on the plane.

Nene feels as though the lady had been told something by someone else who is working with the event. (Drama Drama Drama thats going to come out on the show) Harris tried to cancel the tickets and the hotel room but from everything that Nene said that clearly didn’t work. Nene is currently  in her hotel room and as she so eloquently put it, “We gone party and drink it up on your mua- fucking ass.” She was never stranded.

Just so yall know Nene said:

“Ya I Did say “fuck you bitch” But thats just how I talk when I’m mad and felt like I had been disrespected,– I don’t have to lie”.  -

Oprah Winfrey may be headed to court. According to “The Philadelphia Inquirer,” a U.S. District Court judge has given the go-ahead to the former headmistress of Winfrey’s South African girls school to proceed with a defamation lawsuit against the media mogul. The judge set a March 29th trial date in Philadelphia after reaching a decision on Monday. Lerato Nomvuyo Mzamane accuses Winfrey of defaming her in 2007 in the wake of a sex abuse scandal at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. In her lawsuit, filed in 2008, Mzamane said that Winfrey, during a meeting with parents and in a satellite news conference, suggested that she, Mzamane, was no longer trustworthy and that she tried to cover up the allegations against a dorm matron accused of assaulting several students. Mzamane claims the talk show host’s comments kept her out of work for almost a year.

People we need to wake up. The NAACP is helping to get the word out about the census. In Florida on Wednesday, NAACP members joined state Governor Charlie Crist at news conference to remind Floridians to fill out the forms. Historically, minority residents participate in the census in lower percentages than whites. The ethnicity question on the census form is a sensitive subject for some African-Americans. One of the boxes is labeled Black/African American/Negro. Florida NAACP President Adora Obi Nweze says the verbiage shouldn’t keep people from filling out the census form. The word “Negro” was added as an option after the 2000 Census, when about 45-thousand people checked the box labeled “other.” The census forms are due to be returned by April 1st. The more people who participate, the more federal money states will receive.

The homies over at Bossip.com are reporting that the iconic brand may be folding its magazine. According to Gawker, even the popular go-to mag for black women can’t withstand the tides of the recession. Just a couple of days after announcing the retirement of beauty editor Mikki Taylor, Gawker reports that there has been a lot of pink slips and turnovers since November. Talk of the magazine’s financial problems came up when they used an old picture of Reggie Bush as their cover shot for their February issue. If a large magazine owned by Time Inc. can’t afford to do a photo shoot for their cover story then who can? Time will tell if Essence goes the way of Vibe and become an online-only pub.

DMX can’t keep his nose clean. DMX ,whose real name is Earl Simmons, was recently arrested on not 1, not 2, not 3, but 5 counts of violating his probation.  DMX ‘s  probation officer alleges DMX violated  his probation by messing with cocaine and not completing treatment.  He seriously has issues.  I guess DMX has hit hard times because this is just the latest in  a string of arrests for stealing, drug possession and beating animals. Haven’t you  learned  people don’t play about dogs?  DMX was sentenced to 20 months intensive probation with six months in jail beginning March 16^th. This is another example of how the system fails us. If they can’t help this man with his drug problem he is bound to return. He has a chance to be released early if he’s accepted into an  inpatient  substance abuse program.    The judge is reportedly open to shipping DMX to a California treatment facility where Celebrity Rehab is taped.  Somebody please get this man in a 12 step program quick and pray for him.
