The beautiful Halle Berry is celebrating that her Paparazzi Bill was finally signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in California. Senate Bill 606 will keep the paparazzi from getting too close to celebrity kids. Actresses Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner have been fighting for the rights of their children for years. According to the actresses some paparazzi are too close for comfort. They say that the children are harmed and their privacy is invaded by photographers hungry for exclusive pictures. Check out what Jennifer Garner shared with the lawmakers that helped them sign the bill into law,

“There are violent, mentally ill stalkers, who can now get close to my kids by simply following mobs of photographers and blending in. Like the very man who threatened to cut the babies out of my belly, who was arrested, waiting behind our daughter’s preschool, standing among the throng of paparazzi.”

Halle Berry said that one insensitive paparazzi asked her young daughter a totally inappropriate question. Check it out below,

“How do you feel, Nahla? You may not see your father again. How do you feel about that?’

That’s crazy! I think bad apples SPOIL the bunch as a photographer I feel shame for these two instances.

There’s now stiff penalties for paparazzi who get too close to celebrity kids. The bill says that harassment includes “conduct in the course of the actual or attempted recording of children’s images and/or voices, without express parental consent, by following their activities or lying in wait.” If paparazzi are caught behaving in such a manner, they can spend up to a year in jail and possibly be fined $10,000 for their first violation, $20,000 for their second and up to $30,000 for their third. They are still allowed to take pictures from afar and publish images of the children, but all in all, they can’t be sitting and waiting at their schools, or coming close to mother and child without express parental consent.

Halle Berry was ecstatic and shared this statement,

“On behalf of my children, it is my hope that this is the beginning of the end for those overly aggressive paparazzi whose outrageous conduct has caused so much trauma and emotional distress.”

FreddyO loves the KIDS! I definitely agree with kids feeling safe and secure. Congrats to HALLE BERRY!
