Ja Rule ‘Kind Of’ Released From Jail

Ja Rule currently an inmate is now out of prison after about 21 months of being locked up. He was locked up on gun charges. He isn’t completely a free man thought. Details inside.

TMZ reports that Ja Rule was locked up in Mid-State Correctional Facility in New York since June 2011. Because of his celebrity status he is under protective custody. The sentence is from a gun conviction. Rule is not completely done he still has to serve time for a federal tax evasion conviction which is 28 month sentence.

Early this morning Rule was escorted out of prison by US Marshals. He is still in custody but it is not said when his next sentence will be served. Lawyers to the rapper say he may have less than 6 months and can be eligible for a halfway house. He also could also be put in federal prison.
