Ja Rule Writes Letter From Prison, ‘My First Night Here Was Crazy’

admin Dec 6 11 8 Comments

Ja Rule is reaching out to fans for the first time since beginning his time behind bars. In a letter written to “Vibe” magazine, the rap star reveals he’s been dealing with a rather mixed bag of emotions while in prison. Ja says while it’s nice that some inmates look at him as a star, he can’t help but be saddened by the stories of some of the other prisoners. The rapper says the entire experience has made him reflect on his own relationship with his father, and how he promised he’d never be like him. Ja says that while he is locked up, he still feels as if he’s done a much better job of providing a foundation for his own children. He goes on to add that this entire experience is a learning opportunity, stating that he doesn’t plan to make the same mistakes he made in the past.

Ja Rule began serving a two-year sentence for a weapons charge back in June. One month later, Ja received an additional 28 months for tax evasion.
